If that was the shocking coaching fire then I'm unimpressed.

He'll be with the Clippers. Book it!

Now that's petty and low. Show some f***ing class. He had five great seasons for yall. Even if you hate the man and couldn't wait to get rid of him, that's not a good look. That type behavior will be noticed by his potential replacements.

Is that real or is McMenamin kidding?

edit- just checked what a classless move from the Bulls. At this point who the f*** would want to work there? Unbelievable how they chase coaches out. They've made it abundantly clear since the Phil Jackson days that they don't value a coach at the same level they value the GM/FO and yet they demand communication from them. Unbelievable.

Matters must be so contentious with him and management that it has come to this? The presser alone tells of the disconnect and contempt. "FU" and "FU too..."

Report: ‘At least three’ Bulls starters ripped Tom Thibodeau during exit interview
    Brett Pollakoff

    May 28, 2015, 9:00 PM EDT

Now that the Bulls have parted ways with head coach Tom Thibodeau, the organization continues to leak negative information about how Thibodeau was perceived in his final season with the franchise.

First came the press release, which essentially threw Thibodeau under the bus, and portrayed him as a controlling individual who couldn’t play well with others.

“While the head of each department of the organization must be free to make final decisions regarding his department, there must be free and open interdepartmental discussion and consideration of everyone’s ideas and opinions,” Chicago Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said. “These internal discussions must not be considered an invasion of turf, and must remain private. Teams that consistently perform at the highest levels are able to come together and be unified across the organization-staff, players, coaches, management and ownership. When everyone is on the same page, trust develops and teams can grow and succeed together. Unfortunately, there has been a departure from this culture.”

Now comes word that Thibodeau didn’t have the support of key players, as well.

    From Dan Bernstein of CBSChicago.com:

#Bulls sources: at least three starters ripped Thibs in exit interview, said they’d avoid team facility this summer if he were still there.

This is likely more negativity coming from the front office.

Bulls management didn’t need a reason to slander Thibodeau in this way. In fact, during Thursday’s presser, John Paxson said more than once that if the Bulls were playing for a championship right now, then they wouldn’t be having this conversation.

That’s all that needed to be said — expectations were high, and Thibodeau didn’t meet them from a pure performance standpoint. But instead, the organization feels the need to justify its decision by belittling Thibodeau on his way out the door, when he has exhibited nothing but class publicly throughout this process.

I don't buy that report one bit. It's more work of the FO trying to trash Thibs' name and putting that out there. Grow the f*** up Chicago front office, DAMN! Noah and Rose have always gone to bat for Thibs, there's been no real butting of heads there. Pau would never do that to any of his coaches, he's questioned his usage at times, but he's not going to rip a man who's packing his belongings while under the watchful eye of security...that's not him. Dunleavy - not in his character. Butler - he had his best year and is about to get paid thanks to his play under Thibs. Out of the starters, Butler is the only one with a remote chance of raising any displeasure...maybe due to overuse, but even then those are minimal odds.

Now THAT is a little more interesting. I doubt it happens though. I think he just wants to stick it to the Bulls as much as possible, but everything I've read about this guy there's no way he takes a year off. He's too obsessed with it.

How I so want this to happen. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not even a big fan of Thibs, but he's an upgrade. However, how many times does an opportunity come around to coach an Anthony Davis? Hard to turn that job if offered to him...

Such a great article! Man, I wish we had him. But the time isn't right. He's such a brilliant defensive coach. Best I've seen.

He should definitely take a year off and collect the paycheck. Screw their FO.

The cap is going to explode in 2016-2017. And there will be plenty of free agents available.

So, I wouldn't be surprised if Thibs decides to wait it out for a year. He's getting paid by the Bulls anyway.

I don't know. I'm pretty sure Thibodeau is too competitive to sit out a year if he's got an opportunity right now. Maybe I overestimated him or maybe he just needs a break after all this coaching, but I always had the impression he was too much of a workaholic to take time off voluntarily.

The jobs are getting taken. I don't see where Thibs would have an opportunity right now. Pelicans and Magic jobs are gone already. Maybe if the mystery coach gets fired? Doesn't look good for Thibs for next year. It will probably be better for him to cool his heels for a year anyway.

Yeah I'm starting to reconsider my stance.

I thought for sure he would get a huge offer and wouldn't be able to take time off. Oh well. I guess he and Chicago really hate each other.

It's one thing to fire someone uncerimoniously, but now they gotta try and black list him too? Skip Bayless said it best on First Take: when has Reinsdorf ever acted with class?
