He's got a valid point though. How many players still play strong D at age 34? Most coast on that side of the court at that age. Add the rust concern, as you said, and you've got a recipe for matador D. But, I'm confident Vogel will have ACFresh on the court when it's lockdown time rather than JR.

Bruce Bowen was still locking down guys and winning championships at 36 years old. All three of his championships with the Spurs were during his early to mid thirties. He got his second ring at 34. Granted he's a better defender than JR ever was, but still.

Ray Allen got his first championship playing tough D for the C Bags of course at 33 years old. And he continued to lock down when we beat them for revenge in 2010 at 35.

Those are two good exceptions to the rule. I could name 100 that created the rule. I’m not exactly confident in JR being an exception.

I will never support this signing no matter what happens. I'm actually pretty disappointed by it. I don't feel like I know who my Lakers are any more. Is this Lebron's influence?

And the other headcase we signed? I'm not down with it. Hopefully we win the ring with both of them on the bench, and they are useful practice players. Neither one deserve to be on the Lakers, the standard in all of sports franchises.

Fair enough, but I think JR will be fine as a two way player in limited minutes off the bench. As I said, I do not expect him to be a good replacement for Avery Bradley as a starter. But we have two capable guys in Caruso and KCP who can do that.

I am not personally disappointed in the signing given Bradley's decision. There weren't many guys out there who could just plug in and play with Lebron like JR can. As a bench player I think he can do some good.

Not a peep from you in months Doc while we worry for you in these scary times for health care providers ..... and JR being picked up brings you back in? If you've still got your sense of humor must be doing OK hopefully and those you care about.

Ohh I’m good. The Rona isn’t going to bring down my spirits. Ready for the season to get back and started. We don’t necessarily need basketball right now but man those few hours of ball will be some needed therapeutic relief.

Until Rondo/Kuzma start up with their nonsense and I’m back to yelling at the TV.

HA! Rondo looks yoked and ready ..... to dazzle himself with his mustard off the dog passing and who knows what clown hair Kuz is coming in with for his first post season. But yeah can’t wait.

No expectations. Too weird of a setup and soon as someone tests positive after some games do they panic and shut it all down?

This guy has always been a clown and will ALWAYS be a clown. The one endearing thing he has done recently is beat the s*** out of that (bleep) face who jacked up his car. Other than that, this was a lousy signing and I just hope the Lakers do not regret it.
