Yeah, we'll see. I'm not debating anything, I don't expect a lot. But neither of us really know what he'll do, ultimately. Personally I don't care a whole lot now that we have Price, thankfully. He's feisty and he seems tireless. I like him. We needed that third string PG so badly and I'm glad we have him.
@trodgers it's almost certainly to do with his previous nerve issues. He was having trouble with nerves going to and from his spine to his hamstring. That's exactly the area we're talking about now. If it's not his previous issue, that's almost worse. He really needs to stop trying to play. These nerve issues will only get worse as his body continues to deteriorate. If he's got even MORE nerve issues now then he could seriously hurt himself in the long-run after his playing career. He's being foolish.
It might well be from his previous issues, but I'll wait to hear. If it's distinct, it isn't necessarily a problem. LJ says you can't run with it - you can sometimes. In fact, I've been able to run every time I've had it. Sitting was a different issue.
Well he might be able to run with it, but I don't think he can run with it against legitimate NBA competition... Especially not someone like Curry or Thompson. Nash is best served in a bench role if anything for the remainder of his career.
Serena Winters @SerenaWinters · 7m 7 minutes ago Steve Nash did not practice today. Lakers described it as similar issues he was having last year. And on and on and on it goes...
Eric Pincus @EricPincus · 15m 15 minutes ago Steve Nash did not practice today and didn't yesterday - which is suggestive that he may not play Thursday Mike Trudell @LakersReporter · 26m 26 minutes ago Nash has yet to speak to media about what he’s dealing with, but the back-nerves-hamstrings are all connected, similar to last year. Mike Trudell @LakersReporter · 12m 12 minutes ago It’s always been more likely that Jeremy Lin would wind up as the PG starter, and you get as much as you can out of Nash off the bench.
Mike Bresnahan @Mike_Bresnahan · 25m 25 minutes ago Lin might become the Lakers' starting PG instead of Nash, Byron Scott said. He's still weighing what to do with the situation. Mike Bresnahan @Mike_Bresnahan · 17m 17 minutes ago Scott thinks Nash would be okay with a move to the bench behind Lin: "I have no doubt in my mind....He's such a professional." Lin's going to be starting...Byron won't have any choice.
there's no way after this newest setback that nash should remain a starter. hell i'm not even sure he should/could play ahead of price.
There is no scenario for us in which we end up with Nash playing ball for us at the end of the season. Scott needs to use the minutes Nash would waste for us on Price and Clarkson and let them jel with the team and let Clarkson get used to playing in the NBA.
A 4.1 million exception would come in handy right now. An NBA appointed physician has to check him out and I'm not sure how "visible" an injury this is, though I'm sure they have ways of testing it. Thing is Nash is just going to keep playing this "I'll be better after seeing my trainer in Vancouver for a month" all season long and make a mockery out of our FO's unbelievable patience with him.
I don't think there is anybody around here who didn't see this coming, but after the 1st preseason game? Really Steve? At least Byron knows how to handle this and that you obviously can't count on Nash as your starter.
