We have some people with class running the organization right now, and I think that topic will be dealt with very carefully and gingerly.
pretty good game from him. but he's still in his head on his three point shot. he's got to hit that at a higher clip. call BI's shot doctor or something?!
The funny thing is, Collison and Caruso should be our backcourt to close games. But you know it will be Danny Green and Rondo.
Impressive stuff from Kuz who definitely played his heart out for Kobe last night. Good to see. I still do not envision any kind of decent trade involving Kuz. I just am not hearing anything that sounds intriguing at all. And I'm ok with that. I don't see Kuz as being the reason we potentially don't win a ring this year. I think we need better production from our guards/less clutter/less redundancy there. Rondo has really been sucking and Danny Green has come up short a lot this year. If we could somehow land Collison and/or Iggy I would feel infinitely better about our chances right now (especially Iggy who can lock down wings, hit open threes and handle the ball as well).
He had some good offensive numbers and got some buckets when the offense seemed stagnant. Also loved his rebounding hustle. He did what he could to win. But he did have 4 turnovers, and sometimes his defense was lacking. Howard was visibly frustrated when he didn't switch over and left someone open for a dunk. Of course, it doesn't help when Damian Lillard goes all NBA Jam on you. Also another alarming stat is 0 assists. Yes, he's a finisher, and he's one of the best I've seen one-on-one, but that's not how we win. We win by playing in a system. If he's going to ball dominate, then he needs to learn to look for the open cutter, lob it to a big, or pass it out when he gets stuck. I've seen guys get frustrated at him when he fails to make that last pass. I love his determination, but he needs to understand it's okay to pass it out and try again when he gets stuck. It's frustrating to see him make boneheaded plays, but he's still young and learning, and everyone has to go through it. I still believe he can fit in our system well if he either starts passing at the right times, or if he sticks to being a finisher with his backdoor cuts, high screen and rolls, finishing in transition, and getting open for the 3. But then that leaves us lacking a facilitator. Kuz is a very capable passer--we've seen him make some amazing ones, but if he can do that more often in smart ways, he'll have a more defined role, and we wouldn't have any desire to trade him.
Outside if Kuz, Danny Green has been by far the most disappointing Laker this season. He might be more disappointing than Kuz since Kuz can at least blame injury and adjusting to a new role. Green is being asked to do exactly what he has done his entire career...and he's not doing it. I'm not sure what world we are living in where I feel better with KCP in at the 2 rather than Green. Let alone Caruso who should get the nod over both. When it comes to Rondo, I expected this level of sucktitude. What I did not expect was the inexplicable grip he has on the coaching staff's balls that allows him to continue to play so many minutes.
Vogel has been more inclined over the season to play Caruso instead of Rondo in 4th quarter crunch time. Why would he just be stupid about it when the stakes are highest?
Totally agree. What’s more concerning is that he has almost always shot much worse in the playoffs. Buckle up, folks.
No doubt, not to mention that Green was our big off season signing and at 15 million per year. Earlier in the year I thought he was fitting in pretty well and a perfect complementary player. Inexplicably he's been very inconsistent and we are getting kind of deep into the season at this point. Kuz is a young gunner as you said coming off injury and adjusting to a new role off the bench. He's also only make 2 mill a year or so. I wasn't totally opposed to moving Kuz for a deal that makes us better, but I really don't see such a move available. Collison and or Iggy are the only options I'm totally convinced by and I don't know if either can happen. We'll see.
we should never be stupid about trades, PERIOD. But ..... we are gunning for a championship and I am all for whatever makes us noticeably better. Not saying we even need to, but IF we are going to make a change, the sooner the better. Gotta give any new conditions the time to gel, would not want to wait until the last moment to make any changes as there could be an adjustment period that would screw us going into the playoffs. Would love to get Collison but not sure he is enough, if we could add AI, then that might be enough. Not really sure either of those guys gives us a third option on offense, doubt they do, but they would be an improvement on D and play making.
My comment was a play off of tv star and former football player Terry Crews, in adding himself to the metoo movement, saying a famous media producer grabbed his crotch at a party, in front of his wife. He did nothing in response.
