It's sometimes easy to forget that McGee was recently part of a championship team. That experience will come in handy.
Javale Mutombo out there last night. 9, 11, and 5 blocks in under 20 minutes. Some really great energy on both ends of the floor
I can't think of a center duo that have worked as well as Dwight and Javale in recent memory. Both players seem to always make a solid impact for us. Splitting their minutes up and having 100% of their effort for 15-20 minutes per game is the perfect recipe. Once again another beautiful gameplan by Frank Vogel. My favorite part is seeing these two constantly supporting each other in the bench. It wasn't long ago they said Dwight and Javale would be fighting over the starting spot. And collectively, they both get paid less than Zubac!
Aquaman jammed on McGee early in the game but JaVale just wrecked him back with that Statue of Liberty throw down later. Love he and Dwight’s energy all the minutes they’re each given every night.
Can't play him to close out games: his rotations/closeouts are just slow on defense when offenses are dialed in
Bummer, because he played a great game with possibly the best block of the season, and then the end of the game happened. Those blown defensive plays were just awful.
besides the knucklehead n 1 foul he was solid, i already knew Vuc could get his 3 on mcgee anytike he wanted
I don’t think McGee maintains focus after a certain point in the game. He just seems to get loosey goosey after the initial minutes of each half. I still like what he brings to the table though.
This guy sparked the runs that killed the Rockets. Capella took it to him early in the 1st, but McGee responded big time in the 3rd. Left a huge imprint on the game, loved what he did tonight.
His monster block at the rim of the power jam gave us the fast break for our first lead of the game by 1 point in the low 80s.
He was huge for us in the 3rd. Really help set the tone defensively and ignited our second half push. And that block was impressive. Not as good as the one against Orlando, but still impressive
You gotta have heart and balls to put your wrist and forearm up in front of the rim with a big dude throwing down with two hands. The possibility of what could go wrong there .... yikes.
Capela was already about at the apex of his jump, ready to hammer with two hand before Javale even left the ground. Crazy block!
He’s been quietly good all season after like, maybe 2 weeks to start the season of being meh. Pretty much exactly the player we expected to be getting back from last season, solid and knows his role. He and Dwight have had the center position rock solid for us all season.
I've noticed that we've really never had any issues with the opposing frontcourt. I can't think of when we were truly being dominated in the interior. I feel confident watching a Lakers game knowing that Dwight+Javale+AD will make sure we win that department. Whether or not we win depends on our bench and guards.
i like this one more than orl block on ros . this was on a big at height of his jump with 2 hands n still got it clean
Incredible defense by JaVale today...I think a certain Lonzo is going to have nightmares about him for a while!
