Lonzo looked motivated today and looked capable offensively. Perhaps we played a bit of a soft/lazy defense on him, but credit to Zo for making his shots. I wonder if teams will try to foul him more in the future to force him to shoot free throws.
He has completely and finally changed the release on his (J) shot. No longer the whack crossed release from the left side of his neck. Actually comes up straight from the right of it now. What a concept / who knew? Anyway props for the complete makeover.
I knew ex-Lakers Lonzo, BI and Hart would beat the Kings today. Never underestimate the saltiness of our youth towards Coach Walton. I really like the composure and comfort that Lonzo has in controlling the ball, and with his three falling he is certainly an NBA player. The Pelicans play an attractive style of basketball despite the mixed results this year. A really fun team to watch.
The last eight games the Pelicans are 6 and 2 and we are 4 and 4. Without their best player. Does this mean anything? Of course not, it's only eight games. However, they are only three games out of the eighth seed and I hope they make it there just so I don't have to listen to people telling me what trash the young core is. No more triple singles Zo... keep up the good work. Edit: I meant to say they won 6 of 8... lol
The last eight games the Pelicans are 6 and 8 I know what you meant, but yes, I'd agree they are on a good trajectory. Part of it is due to Lonzo's improved play for sure.
..... and scheming 24/7 how can he leverage Melo and Zo into existence on the same team. You know the wheels are turning furiously. Personally I think he will have Zo wait before inking any extension just to see where Melo goes in the draft. Even to the detriment of his own paycheck maybe for a couple of years. Especially if any truth to the rumor than a huge sneaker deal is in the works for Melo. Gelo coming off surgery to "get him right" with one foot or ankle. The dream is alive. I bet.
I think that they will be their best playing on different teams since they basically both play point guard And Gelo literally has zero shot at making the NBA
Zo playing much better - funny how it was around this time last year that he turned it up for us. I just hope he can stay healthy - that has been the knock on both him and Ingram for some time now. He just looks more comfortable out there - more confident. It's all mental with Zo - which can be good or bad. What's more impressive is they're thriving without Holiday - maybe that's part of what the issue was?
Lonzo last 10 games 16.5 pts, 6 rebs, 6 assists, 32mpg, 46% FG, 41% 3pt%. Maybe he figured it out finally and has turned a corner?
Lonzo has had a few of these outbursts...sadly he has been getting hurt soon after and started from zero again. We will have to wait and see if he stays healthy. For his own sake, I hope he does.
Terrible shooting tonight but was one assist away from a 17 point triple double. The important thing is that he led them to victory with a strong performance from Okafor without BI, Jrue, or Zion. I'm telling you this team might still make the eighth seed even with the horrible start.
