I've been quite disappointed with Kuzma but it's tough to give up on him when our title chances are significantly higher when he plays well. I just hope he can somehow develop into the player we all expected him to be when the season started. Granted, he's had some nagging injuries with his ankle and getting hit in the face but it's about that time where he's got to earn his place in the roster. With our upcoming weak schedule, Kuzma needs to find his role on this team. Defensively, I've given up on the guy. He's just too slow and heavy footed to guard smaller players and too weak to guard bigger players. I'm sick of Kuzma driving right and tossing up a dumb over the head hail mary towards the rim. He needs to attack the paint, draw contact, and at the very least get to the FT line. He is so afraid of the contact that it's hurting his game. Shooting wise, let's be honest, he was never a great shooter to begin with. If he can hit 36% of his shots, I'm satisfied. Playmaking, dear Lord, please leave that to LeBron!
Your analogies are all over the place and they do not match what I say. It's just a message board. I don't have feelings to take things personally.
My "nonsensical" takes. 1. Harden cheats, but is also one of the best dynamic scorers in the league 2. I like AD, but wish we took a different strategy than divesting ourselves of every young player other than Caruso and Kuzma to acquire him. 3. Maria Sharapova is pretty but overrated 4. Trump is dishonest and so is Hillary. 5. When we lacked a Lou Williams like shot creator I proposed trading Kuzma for IT (How I stayed on topic this post) The only possibly nonsensical take was IT for Kuzma... but after last game it didn't look nearly as stupid as everyone thought. IT 13.7 PPG TS% 54.7 3PT% 42% FT% 84.4 PER 13.8 Kuzma 11.9 PPG TS% 54.0% 3PT% 35.4% FT% 72.0% PER 10.9 Was it the greatest idea? No... but it wasn't nonsense either. I merely suggested it during a conversation where people were throwing out random ideas and people jumped all over mine. Thanks Ron Stu for keeping an open mind.
#5 below kept him on topic, and he said it was the only item on the list that could be considered weak. the rest of the list has merit, but I think the issue was defending the takes in multiple threads where they did not necessarily apply. It takes a little while to catch our groove here. We are very thread topic oriented to keep things neat, but that’s not the way conversations in real life go 5. When we lacked a Lou Williams like shot creator I proposed trading Kuzma for IT (How I stayed on topic this post)
the fact that one of the five list items was explicitly tethered to the thread topic did not escape me. it just sort of drove home the opposite point.
When someone calls your posts nonsense... the only options you have is to either address it within the thread where it is stated or have the ego to create a new thread to discuss it. I chose the first option. And although it's a work in progress, I prefer Kuzma's new haircut to the one earlier in the season.
i think kuzma's suffering from having to fit in to a new scheme that isn't as tailored to his strengths as luke's was. i think his defense has clearly improved, and he otherwise looks similar--save for that he's not quite as aggressive on offense. i'm not sure if the latter is a problem or not. on one hand, i like that he's moving the ball (something luke did try to get him to do more), but his game is finishing plays. doesn't help that lebron and rondo are the only guys who can really make great passes on the team, and rondo's lack of a jumper kills the spacing that would help get kuzma free to catch more of those.
Kuz has always been a streaky shooter. His defense has gotten somewhat better and he is moving the ball. Here’s hoping he’s fully healthy and on a hot streak in May and June.
