Ingram got plenty of love before he was traded and many were sad to see him go. Folks are no longer talking about him because he’s not a Laker. It’s really that straightforward to be honest. If Kuz ever got more rope it was because he was a much later pick. Ingram should be better based on being a number two pick. Plenty of guys still root for him, Lonzo, and Hart though.

Ever had pressure the moment you get up until you went to sleep to do well? Ever had a slump? How about sit back and spare us the soliloquies of your analytics and analysis and just watch the games. I purposely avoid the sports shows these days because of that piles of trash that come out of their mouths to get ratings instead of actually ANALYZING. Here's what the ANALYSES on the Lakers the first 2+ months of the year, 1st place in the west while working kinks, injuries and games. 2 wins in Portland for a Laker team that barely wins there once a year. Happy Hanukkah.
BI showed he can score 25 a game on the right team and system. Not a winning team, yet, but his ceiling is higher than Kuzma’s, IMO. That said, Kuzma is a much better fit for this team with Bron and AD. I said it over the summer, Kuzma, with Vogel’s influence on defense and using his strength (still needs to add muscle) and legs (not hands), can have a trajectory toward Middleton and Siakam. Not a great ball handler or facilitator. But a good system player. His work on his offense and stroke is showing. I want to see him work more on his D. To be a stretch 4/3&D star. If the Lakers get Iggy, Kuz will really shine (another distributor and defensive switch player to enable mismatches for Kuz).
Ingram unless he regresses is currently the best 2nd pick since Durant... Maybe Ja Morant exceeds him because he's playing far better as a rookie I agree most here seem to respect him... at least more so than the last board I frequented. However, my comments are directed at the vocal minority who continue to belittle what he does. The low draft pick point is a good one... but it's more than that. Kuzma's better looking, has more charisma, has more swag and style. He fits a lot of what fans like in a player... I noticed even straight men seem to like their sports heroes to look the part. I found it frustrating when many including sports pundits like the TNT crew would say Kuzma was the star and Ingram wasn't anything special. Revisionist history now likes to say that we were never going to keep Ingram no matter what, but many rumors abounded that Kuzma was desired as well... especially with Ingram's blood clot issues. We may never know the truth about this until the 30 for 30 comes out in ten years. So when Kuzma does well, it makes me feel better about what happened... when he doesn't it makes me regret. Right now I feel much better than I did a few days ago.
That drive and kick to LBJ was nice; I'd like to see him operating in more screen/roll action as the ball handler. It might be another wrinkle to add...
Easy to put up numbers on a bad team versus on a good team (ala Jordan Clarkson on the Cavs w/ Lebron and w/o Lebron) Strange comparison as completely different situations (harder to get into rhythm as a role player, able to score right away off the bench, type of shots, type of plays, etc.)
Nobody calls @abeer3 the vocal minority. And he hadn't even said anything last night about Kuz playing well after finally getting healthy.
I just quickly checked the scoring top ten the last two years. 80% of the top scorers were on winning teams. If your theory were correct it seems that 50% or more of the top scorers would be on losing teams. Obviously, not a scientific sampling but I bet if I went back further we'd see more of the same.
you know what's strange? ingram being a topic of discussion. i might just start comparing all of our players to zach lavine or somesuch. and being like: why ya'll hatin'?
well, that and if you look at history, my opinions on ingram have never changed, when he was here or there. i said he was underrated here, but not a star. he's not underrated anymore, and he's still not a star. anthony davis craps bigger than him. and this is the kyle kuzma thread. he had a good game. not "zach lavine" good, but good. why the f*** isn't he zach lavine, though?
So why not just say you like AD's two way game better? That's a fair comment. AD craps bigger than him is simply ridiculous. The kids before LBJ came had a 43% winning percentage their last season. AD had a 44% winning percentage in New Orleans BI is currently averaging more than AD at 22 and he is a better offensive creator. That is an example of a needless comment that will make me retort. If you simply said he's better... I wouldn't argue. When you say he craps bigger than Ingram... I'll probably continue to reply.
