He's aggressive, some decent fouls. I like the guy. He's that type of scrappy player you need on every CHAMPIONSHIP team.
I really liked his effort. The only thing that bothers me is that he is afraid to take the 3, even if he’s open. That one he shot from the corner was good - catch and shoot. More of that, please.
Somewhere out there (cue that music) ..... has to be a clear slo mo gif of AC’s euro step reverse backspin layup on the break with the defender in stride with him. WOW! Or @RonStu has a request. Pleeeeeaaase? Lakersball needs this.
Yeah and it’s clear he got enough skill to protect the ball and run the offense and keep the ball moving where it needs to go decently.
two ways to look at these types of numbers: 1. caruso is great and should play more minutes. 2. vogel knows how and when best to use caruso. hard to know without a much larger sample, which is unlikely to happen. but the second scenario happens all the time with carlisle and popovich players--they look great in a specific role and can look terrible anywhere else. i like caruso as a 20mpg all-purpose guard. some nights, you need him for 30 minutes, some nights 10. just don't ask him to do things he can't (run pick and roll, generate shots in general). he can work on those things in his spare time, but not on the court when you're trying to win. love his general basketball instincts and low-burning fire out there. he's fun to watch.
But in general the light skinned bros just aren't very durable Vogel knows this, and he's saving him for when it matters most. Of course, he asked for Caruso's permission first.
OK it's in here at 2.50 but not quite as thrilling as I remembered in real time. Luka was standing in defense and AC went around him. Still a boss move. Probably not gif worthy. This clip will probably self destruct when the NBA gets to it like they always do to @CaCHooKa Man's hard work .
