Letting Ingram go next year to sign AD would have made sense as much as I loved the kid when he was here. It's letting go of Ingram plus all the other young assets that makes me upset. Any more improvement on his part though and I may rethink even that.
this its hilarious to think "well maybe they should have kept him." this team would be a few games above .500 most likely right now if it was still lebron+BI+lonzo
ugh. his mean. he started the year shooting very well, and now he's shooting about how he did when he was in la. you REALLY don't want to keep up the AD comparisons.
and we'd be looking right at missing the playoffs again after lebron's second consecutive xmas groin injury. as for the other parts we gave up for AD: collective MEH. we'd be complaining about them not being able to beat the clippers, too.
yeah right now i see it as they gave up BI and picks for AD. lonzo and hart are the same players they were last year and who knows if they'll get better
He's carrying a larger load right now, but mostly he's the same player he's always been, but with predictable incremental improvements based on age, strength, and experience. His FT's have improved noticeably, but if you look at his percentages overall vs minutes, and especially compare to his year sans Lebron, he's pretty consistent. Nice jump in rebounds. His 3 PT % was 39% 2 years ago, so 41% is nice, but not monumental. Shooting slightly lower percentage overall from last year, but his 3 PT attempts have tripled too. His impact minus the "protection" of having a star with major gravity to play next to is impressive overall. GREAT JOB BI/Slenderman. I'd imagine we'll continue to see incremental improvements for the next several years. He'll probably end up a 30/10/5.5 kind of player at his peak with the potential to be a 50/40/90 guy. That's damn impressive. Will it lead to wins? We'll have to wait and see, but since we were at the tail end of Lebron's usefulness to us, we had to make the move for AD. Love to get him back at one point though, that's for sure. No games, no fashion show, just working on his craft. Gotta love that about BI. and Lemf.
His mean was never 41% or 84% free throw shooting, so I don't know how I could have extrapolated that. I've gone from thinking BI will never be good as AD on defense or offense, to maybe BI will be better offensively. It's been over 30 games since he's kept up this efficiency dating from the all star break. You tell me not to compare but if he goes the rest of year at this pace, then the comparisons will speak for themselves. Has anyone in NBA history gone 34 games scoring over 25PPG at high efficiency and then regressed to mediocrity? Especially a high lotto pick? Linsanity only lasted 10 to 20 games... BI has gone on much longer than that. He's had a few terrible games as you mentioned but the difference is that now he bounces back from them. If he averages 24 points at the end of the season then he's at AD level scoring at 22. Agree he'll never be AD on defense as he's not as athletic but then he seems to have way more offensive versatility.
BI has balls, so there's that sure he weighs 160 lbs soaking wet, but when your elbows are that bony and sharp, it's effective
smells like bs. i mean, obviously, they'd move him for the right deal, but it's clear this guy heard nothing from anyone saying any talks about westbrook had occurred. sounds like speculation from rival gms trying to sow discord in houston. which is fine by me.
Whatever. He has spiders living in that thing. You see how Lebron got smart this year and trimmed his sensibly. And you got me. I am a straight male and find Kuz more attractive.
What's interesting is that when everyone was complaining about his free throw inflated stats his FTAs were at 14 per game. It's now dropped to 12 FTAs per game and his scoring average has stayed the same I think the league sent the refs a memo and he still kept scoring. If it drops to 11 it will be in line with MJ or Kobe's FTAs during their peak scoring years. In fact I think Jordan had 12 FTAs.
Celebrate? I'm not celebrating Harden's success and root against him whenever we play him. Some stubborn people acted like what he accomplished was nothing so I simply begged to differ.
He's an incredible scorer. If he stops the flopping, ref baiting, and cheating, he'll get more credit from everyone. Until then, he can piss off.
paul's been quietly very good. beat the mavs down the stretch basically by himself the other day, vintage style. issue will be whether he makes it a full season. houston ditched him because a) he cares more about winning than glorifying harden and b) he got hurt a lot when it mattered. i'm still skeptical paul can make it a full season, but if he can, he's pretty close to worth his giant salary, even now.
Who would have thought that the he would last this long, what with his constant jumping and dunking. Big props to the guys in whatever lab he was made... BTW... food for thought. Vince was born in Florida. Same place Bron goes every half-a-year to "vacation" and "rest". Coincidence? I think not!
