So here are the results. Defensive First Team Chris Paul Tony Allen Kawhi Leonard Draymond Green DeAndre Jordan Defensive Second Team John Wall Jimmy Butler Anthony Davis Andrew Bogut Tim Duncan Eh...I don't agree with DeAndre Jordan being on there. I think Gobert and Bogut were both better than him. Also, 7 out of the 10 were from the West. All NBA First Stephen Curry James Harden LeBron James Anthony Davis Marc Gasol All NBA Second Chris Paul Russell Westbrook LaMarcus Aldridge Pau Gasol DeMarcus Cousins All NBA Third Kyrie Irving Klay Thompson Blake Griffin Tim Duncan DeAndre Jordan I don't think Pau deserved to be on the 2nd team. Actually, I don't think he should have been on any team. Kawhi should have been there. Not a single player from the Hawks? 12 of the 15 were from the West.
Would love to see a game between the 1st & 2nd All-Defensive Teams.. That would be a great game. I'd definitely have to give the advantage to the 2nd team though 'cuz they have more offensive weapons.
I think he has a case. There was a great article that really broke down CP3's defense and how it is elite (for a PG). Also, unlike most other elite PGs who are hidden on defense, CP3 refuses to float around. He will guard Curry, Westbrook, Lillard, etc., and he usually does a great job on them.
He is not on the defensive first team, but he is on the all-nba first team. Kawhi and Draymond beat him for that spot on the defensive team. I won't say that they deserved it over him, but I think you can make an argument for them.
Paul did also take on Durant and took him out of his game for a spell. He jumps on people's legs for intentional fouls too...
idk, but he has led the league in steals or been in the top 2 for like 3 of the last 4 years or something close to that.
One of the things I'm most proud of in Kobe's career is his 9x being on the All-NBA 1st Defensive team. Only he and Jordan have done that from the guard position I believe.
