Rondo is only our "third" best player when he's making 50% of his threes. If he's clanking and shooting 32% from three, he would be one of our worst. It's literally that simple. We don't have a third best player right now and that's perfectly fine. We don't have to deal with the fact that a third player would cry about their shot opportunities or feel slighted. Whoever plays best outside of LeBron and AD will get more minutes and opportunities. Looks to me like Rondo is that player since Bradley has been gone.

I just feel Daniels skill set is redundant on this team. But I would keep him over Dudz...I just don’t understand his roster spot and like I said before, it’s not nitpicking, when we legit need forward depth for Bron/AD since Kuz can’t do it all.

That being said, Rondo’s calf injury seems to be a memory now and dude looks to be getting up for big games in the regular season. But what I like most is that he played 30+ mins holding Bron’s to a much deserved sub 30min outing. That makes me happy!

Get another playmaker for this roster and I really like our chances. Till then, Rondo is an absolute must for this team.

Teams aren't going to be leaving him open for 3 for much longer when he's shooting 50%.

Scouting will catch up, and the Lakers will benefit from teams respecting his 3 ball.

Rondo playing “pick your poison” is pretty hilarious

so is Dwight hitting a 3 while ricocheting free throws off the rim.

    this league.....

So, your explanation is someone is only good when they play good and if they aren't, they are bad?

Bruce Bowen effect. He could shoot 3's but his pea brain couldn't hit free throws.

    Per Pincus:

Naturally, he needs to prove he can shoot this consistently for more than a dozen games, but if he can, that's a game-changer for the Lakers. That opens the door for Rondo to be more than just the backup when James sits, but a valuable additional ball-handler to help relieve the pressure on James.

In fact, roughly 144 of Rondo's 258 minutes (55.8 percent) have come alongside James. His most frequent lineup includes James with Howard, Kyle Kuzma and Caruso. That group has an offensive rating of 111.6 points per 100 possessions, a defensive rating of 89.7 and a net of 21.9 over 46 minutes. Sub in Kentavious Caldwell-Pope for Caruso over 18 minutes, and the lineup has a 28.4 net rating.

Overall, the Lakers have an offensive rating of 110.2 when Rondo sits and 109.9 when he plays. The offense isn't taking a significant dip when the team goes to the bench, and that's extremely valuable, especially at the point.

Defensively, the Lakers are better when Rondo plays (100.9 vs. 102.1).

So playing next to Bron is just as important as sending Bron to the bench. Bron off-ball is devastating, but more importantly, his usage dips and he can “rest” on the court with ‘Do running the show.

Not sure how you derived that from what I've said. To clarify for you, someone said Rondo is our third best player and I'm stating that if he could knock 50% of his threes, he would be but at the same time, if he shoots poorly from three, he would be one of our worst. It's just to emphasize how important his shooting will be for us in our lineup - particularly when we need to rely on him in the playoffs.

If Rondo makes shots, he is out "third", if he doesn't he is the worst. I think we know that.

3rd guy on this team doesn't look needed. What the Lakers need is 3 guys that can be the 3rd guy. I have noticed lately when Lebron and AD sit, the Lakers arent losing leads. As a matter of fact, the leads have gone up, even when AD and Lebron were out together.

It's real simple with this current team. If the role players make open shots, the Lakers win the title. Done. Not much more to talk about. Because AD and Lebron are MVPs of the NBA and they are legit. Everything else is make sure you play your role and make the shots. Nothing more.

I'm explaining it to the guy who said he was our third best player. What's the issue? There isn't one. Get over it.

Started the run for a double digit lead with two deep treys. Usual chatter at the free throw line to distract the opponents.

Hope that left hamstring strain isn't a bad injury and that he's not out for a while.
