Nice strip off Holliday and played very good defense on Reddick. I was expecting a make off a three when James swung the ball to him. Now how times have changed. Good for him and the fanbase's composure.
He did have a couple of good plays but generally speaking he was back to being lousy KCP tonight (2 for 8 shooting). This is why Avery Bradley should get his starting job back when he returns. Our perimeter D was just atrocious with NOP shooting over 50% from 3 most of the game. That's not cutting it on D for our team who was so good earlier this year with Bradley as a starter.
Start Bradley but then KCP has to spend his minutes with LBJ on the floor and Bradley with AD and no Bron as a ball handler/mid range threat imo.
Wow great discussion about KCP who has started to play pretty good which is great for the team. I have always thought he was a knucklehead who had a world of talent but could never quite get it together. Thank God he is playing well and can fit into the guard rotation which is really strong. Who starts Bradley or KCP? Does it really matter? Both are great defenders KCP may be a better 3 point shooter with Bradley having a better mid range game. Neither one is much of a ball handler which is where Rondo and Caruso come in. KCP can slide the the 3 for some added flexibility. The good news is we are deep at guard with KCP and Green able to play the 3 against most teams. Vogel can go with the hot had and we have the depth to overcome foul trouble if they are too aggressive. I am just glad KCP with his big contract is not an Albatross hanging around the Lakers necks.
my worry is that he only plays well with the starters. dallas has had a similar issue with tim hardaway in that he looked pretty bad on the bench, then seth curry got hurt and he looked pretty good with the starters. should curry be demoted despite winning the job initially? which is better for the team identity, long-term. my sense is still that this has to be a defensive team, and that starting bradley both furthers that goal and sends that message. one possibility--and so far, vogel has shown to be pretty canny in these situations--is that when bradley comes back, we start with him coming off the bench and just see how things go. assuming he comes back during december, that will coincide with some tough games. if we win, maybe kcp has earned his spot. if not, it's an easy transition to move bradley back in.
The current Lakers roster is built for the playoffs. Great defense and stars making plays. Lakers losing 19 more games this season still wins them 60 games. Lakers are gonna get destroyed after every loss and get destroyed even worse if they lose back to back games. So, get ready. You need to decide whether you will enjoy the season or be miserable.
I still hold out some unrealistic hope in my head that he would accept a trade to a nice city that has no state tax. Mavs could use a 3 and d guard. Heat have no use for him really unless he was part of salary filler. Rockets make some sense
Shot making?? Tonight? 0-3 from 3 2-2 on 2s Cool 4 points and 3 turnovers. He did play some solid d though
Easily expected this Hes not a guy you cant rely on to be good. You should expect him to be poor on offense and if he does something well, thats a bonus And to think that Detroit offered him 5 years 80M. And then even dumber to decline it
He's been very good on D - and tracking Murray off of those screens and contesting shots. Also had 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals and was great in the closing lineup tonight.
Yeah I actually thought he played really well despite the jumper not falling. He's definitely seems to have turned the corner in that even without the 3 pt falling he's doing other things well: solid D, hitting open jumpers and not doing anything stupid. What a turn around Just don't have him matched against bigger guys: he seems struggle against guys who can outmuscle him but otherwise his defense has become solid
