Yeah. He started off the season horribly but if you look at what Danny Green gets paid, KCP's contract isn't THAT bad... If he's the biggest complaint we've had this season, we must be doing amazing. I was watching this dude Anthony Tolliver play last night for the Trailblazers and once everyone realizes that every team has a few bad players, they won't be as disappointed. I mean, Robert Horry was absolutely terrible for us in the majority of his time there but we made it work and he stepped up in many situations and KCP hasn't really been that bad if you consider his past three games. I'm more concerned about Troy Daniels. He's too good of a shooter to get that many wide open shots and shoot below 30% from three.
I wouldn't say Robert Horry was ever terrible for us, more like asleep at the wheel for long stretches. You could always count on him for defense and timely plays even if his shot was off. But I agree with everything else you said here. KCP has been showing some life lately and if he does play up to at least some of his potential then this particular contract will sting a bit less. The last few games have been really encouraging. His confidence is starting to pick up. It is a little concerning that Daniels other than a few games hasn't really been hitting his open looks. We'll need him sometime to light start lighting it up. Doesn't have to be now obviously but I hope he finds his rhythm and starts knocking those down.
He is a role player and when he plays 20-22 mins a game he's solid. When he tries to do too much and is given a bigger role he struggles like crazy. Keep him around that 20 min. mark and he'll pay off
Another good game, I will take it every time. Not a good first half, totally different second half, had some key defensive plays, got a crafty foul late and made the free throws.
KCP last 10 games: 21 min, 8.9 points, 49.% FG, 50% 3pt%, 14/28 from 3, 0.8 TOs per game. He's used correctly as a simple 3 and D guy and not as a ball handler
He's vital for this team to win it all. That's why Lakers fans have been hard on him. If he is effective, it helps everyone. I've noticed he plays better as a starter which is probably why he's turned it around. Let's see how he does coming off the bench again when Bradley returns.
good point. starting lets him defend sgs and pgs, too, which is helpful. he struggles against size on defense.
KCP is the only role player we have after Caruso that can actually attack a closeout and take it to the rack. We NEED this guy to step up and be a SG version of what Trevor Ariza was on the 2017 Rockets. Any time the ball swings to Danny Green or even Kuz nowadays and they don't have an open shot it just turns into a record scratch on offense. Kuz especially has disappointed with his sloppy dribbling thus far.
^^^ .... yeah maybe. Right before he got another huge chance and has done well since he had a couple games where Vogel really cut his minutes and it was noticed and commented about on line and Twitter.
