Hayes is gonna be good. If everyone is healthy, I would not want to meet the Pelicans if they somehow squeaked out an eighth seed
You laugh, but they are playing without half of their starters, making dumb mistakes and still giving the Clippers a hard time. Of course, I think we'd win but they have only begun to scratch the surface of their talent.
Pelicans win against the consensus Championship favorite...just when Ingram, Ball and Hart miss the game with injuries... Thank you Pelicans for balling... Its amazing how fragile the young Lakers were and they continue to be the same elsewhere. coincidence?
So far the Clippers have shown to be hot garbage on defense. Its funny how everyone was saying the Clippers are better than the Lakers because their defense is so great. The Lakers so far have been a MUCH MUCH better team defensively. Fair enough, they haven't had George and Kawhi together on the court yet but I think the wet "idea" on paper of George, Beverley and Kawhi putting the clamps on every team is utter nonsense. The Clippers are getting clowned inside the arc and those guys will not protect their rim...which has become an air pocket.
I’d love to play them, our former 3 players have never even sniffed a playoff game, unless they attended one as fans I’m unaware of. Holiday, Favors, and Reddick have experience and are solid, but the team is 3-8, I don’t see them as a threat at all.
they lost the game the other night when the entire team forgot to pick up james harden (the guy that shoots the ball every trip down the floor!) in crunch time. but yeah, i thought it was borderline insulting that everyone thought george/kawhi/bev were going to just take people's lunch money on the perimeter like this was middle school. these are professionals. turnovers above the arc usually aren't forced; they're mental mistakes. they'll be a good defensive unit, but i never bought the all-time greatness angle on that end. and they're going to be a very effective--but very ugly--offensive unit. they'll be more fun to watch than houston, but not by as much as people think. and they'll be better than houston, but not by as much as people think.
Both the Pelicans and our record are misleading. We won at least a few games we should have lost and they lost a couple maybe they should have won. If the comparison was 7-4 or 6-5 vs 5-6 would you be bringing up the records? They are missing Zion. For them this is the equivalent of no LBJ. If they had Zion and we lost LBJ, our records could be similar. Holiday also played poorly until last game where he finally broke out in spite of his 7 turnovers. Again, I think we can beat them but my point was if they were whole and Hayes keeps developing, they get Zion back and have a year together I wouldn't want to face them. I feel the same way about Denver who also has a lot of young pieces and depth. I worry less about Portland, Houston, Spurs, Utah, Minny. If they stay injured, they won't even make the playoffs and this discussion will be moot and they will have a high draft pick which will fortify them even more. If they somehow made the eighth seed, that means they went on a fairly strong winning run and that wouldn't be a team that would be good for anyone to play. The season is between us and the Clippers, but I wouldn't want to play them if I were the Clippers either.
That would be the equivalent of sending Booker, Ayton, Oubre and three picks for AD. Phoenix would not be winning in that scenario. The key to winning is LBJ and unless he continues becoming the Tom Brady of basketball in a much more physical position, we won't be winning much longer either. I'm praying LBJ follows the Mailman's path in aging, because our only path to success is him staying elite for three more years.
yeah, we could have continued to win 30 games a year and hope REAL HARD instead of this stupid lebron/AD gambit.
