I'd trade Kuzma for the right pieces. I wanted him included in the AD trade to spare Ball or Ingram because Kuzma was clearly the worst fit.
Wow this 3rd grade peep can’t point out that another 3rd grader from the yard is mocking his fellow classmates for coming up with ideas to what Mr. Rambis told us in class. Wait...lego this this act. You mocking members here for what the FO is doing with Kuz’s name on the market...5 games in. Most of you thought our roster needed a 3rd star and supported the FO for it. I know I did. But last year it was why no shooting and why all the one year deals? Basically s***ting on the idea of a 3rd star this summer. So which is it? Stop hogging all the waffles. I was telling most of y’all to be patient till their vision is realized. It wasn’t, so the criticism can now start to spread, cause imo our contingency was s***. Pass the butter... You guys like the roster so much, yet complain about Kcp and Rondo relentlessly ignoring that our FO turned to that as a contingency. Yall got syrup all over your shirt. Now there are clear holes on this roster and the current approach is not really sustainable if the rings the thing and there are folks trying to figure out solutions, yet there are these contradictory kids at the yard mocking them. Take a time out and re-evaluate your argument. But pass the syrup before you do. Just wow, you finished all the syrup. Now I understand why you don’t share your solutions with the rest of us. Smh
you can't just keep punting seasons for a third star. at some point, you have to try to win games. none of our contracts are bad. every roster has holes, including ours. i'm sorry this seems to stress you to no end (NO END!).
those 2 dont get to play next to James....if James sat or was injured, this team wouldn't be winning either. I'm not pinning for either one or against the trade but this idea that they lose no matter what they do is terrible generalization, there's only a handful of players who can change the makeup of the whole team by himself, AD as good/great as he is aint one of em either
at age 21, AD took half a season of jrue holiday, 60 games of the crap version of eric gordon, and non-rookie tyreke evans to the nba playoffs in the western conference. ingram and randle are older than that already. the difference is monumental, tbh. randle's about to compete for the worst record ever, and ingram's basically playing with the same quality squad that AD had at the same age (in the same place) and is currently in the cellar. if AD "ain't of 'em", i ain't seen one. being the lone all star (by a longshot, i might add) on a playoff team in the west is a tough gig, and he's done it twice. the others that have done that are guys i'm guessing you'd be impressed with.
do i get to replace him with role players that fit around davis? because that would be a playoff team or close, per history.
2 out of 6, sure replace James with similar lvl of talents AD had around him and we dont win squat, just like Ingram isn't winning squat cause he dont have a "star" next to him either, why isn't Ball getting any criticism, I thought his game/presence on the floor meant more winning cause his advance stats are so mind blowing
AD with Rondo waxed a Damian Lillard team in 4. Went to the second round and got beat by what was the best Warriors team of their title run. Come on guys, do better.
not sure what you're getting at. what is "squat"? the title? anyway, AD did win without another star. he made the playoffs twice in six years without an allstar running mate. BI has missed the playoffs for 3 (will now be 4) years, meaning he'll have to take NO to the playoffs twice in a row without another allstar to match the production you keep denigrating. what are the chances that happens? ball deserves plenty of criticism and he got it here. nobody's trying to act like letting him go was a huge mistake, though. anyway, being the lone allstar on a WC playoff team is great work. if ingram does that, you throw your parade. i'll bring confetti.
there was this other guy name Jrue Holiday too who was lighting it up that yr, he hasn't been seen this yr with the Pelicans....I'm not debating that guys like Bi or Randle etc are in AD league but you and the likes putting the blame on them for their current team losing is ridiculous
19/6/5 that yr they beat Por. and 17/6/5 the other playoff yr with solid defensive metrics, WAS a former all-star from the east and if we gona put the blame for the losing on Ingram shoulders, shouldn't there be some criticism AD way when we have 20pt drop off on O when he's on the floor w/o James?
When Kareem came into the league the Bucks went from 27-55 to 56-26 When Shaq came into the league Orlando went from 21-61 to 41-41 When LBJ came into the league the Cavs went from 17-63 to 35-47 When AD came into the league New Orleans went from 31.8% to 32.9% winning % (66 game vs 82 game season) When BI came into the league the Lakers went from 20.7% to 31.7% winning % We traded more resources than we had for any player in Lakers history yet he had way less effect on winning than any of these players. Again if you like AD fine... I like him too... but the overstatement of his impact on winning mystifies me.
These numbers are worthless without context. Who else was on the roster? Are the other 11 players worse than they were the year before? Kareem was a 4 year starter at UCLA before the jump. The Lakers with Ingram had a ton of young players who were going to make massive jumps. Randle into his second actual year of playing as well as Russell's second year.
It's a fair point that it's an oversimplification, but it was also a retort to a similar oversimplified responses. In spite of this, I'd bet that young Shaq or Kareem would still have significantly more effect than AD with almost any lineup. It's actually remarkable how AD's stats and advanced analytics generally don't translate into wins. Remember, all I've said during this entire discussion is that we don't know whether the trade will pan out well. It's the others who have deemed this a foregone conclusion.
