Quinn Cook played fantastic tonight. Without Bradley, he truly stepped up for us considering he's been terrible thus far. I'm still waiting for Daniels to find his shot. It's been rather disappointing. When his shot isn't falling, he's a net-negative player for us. Bad defense, bad playmaker, and pretty much useless without a three point shot.
Props for sticking with Kuz. After that first half, he didn't deserve second half minutes but boy did he deliver. Please never play KCP again. Our team D picked it up in the second half after letting White and Young pick us apart in the first.
Lebron played 35 min but I credit Vogel for not playing him more. In Cleveland in both his stints, the coaches always pushed the panic button when the team looked shoot with James in it and he would play 40-45 minutes in a game like this. *Still too many minutes and I'd prefer the load management that the Clips are doing with Leonard* but credit for Vogel for trusting his bench to give them another shot
I did have company at the time and thought he was asked about Caruso when he got that big smile. Oooops fake Bald Eagle news. Good on Cook though!
Looks like we finally got us a coach in the post-Phil Jackson era. Really impressed with this guy. The job doesn’t look too big for him.
Great observation, describes how I feel about Vogel so far. I was thinking about how Vogel took Hibbert and turned him into a two time all-star. He must be having a field day with having Howard, McGee, Davis, Green and Bradley to work with.
Prefer to be 5-3 like the Clips instead of a lead-leading 6-1? That's a 70 win pace vs a 51 and a lot of homecourt advantage in the playoffs. They'll start load-managing LBJ once we're more settled with Kuz and Rondo back and up to speed.
To piggy back off this... I'd be happy just making it to the playoffs, finally, but I think for this team homecourt advantage will be important. You know what you'll get from Lebron and AD but I think the rest of the guys benefit from the home crowd getting hyped. Crowd gets hyped, we start getting defensive stops, those 50/50 balls start turning into baskets... suddenly every 3 is going down... etc. etc.
well, we're playing great defense pretty consistently, which is credit to both him and the FO for making that a priority. we had to sacrifice some offensive talent to get these players, though, and we haven't really figured out how to maximize AD's vast offensive talents yet. so, i give him a B. maybe B+.
