in real time, i didn't understand why lebron was driving. he had the stepback corner three, and i didn't think he had time to drive and kick. plus...why would anyone help off a three point shooter in that situation? not sure it was a great design, in other words. might have been dumb luck. but having danny green as the guy in the corner wasn't. #moneywellspent
Looking at the replay agree the refs screwed Dallas. Dwight should have gotten 15 yards for the obvious holding after his pick on Curry.
Green might have still juked him, never know. It was a fantastic fake with great time clock awareness. but I’d be a bit bitter if I was Dallas too.
Veteran move by Dwight. That hold is never called in the last couple minutes. Not saying it wasn't a foul, but just like a player driving to the hoop for the game winner can expect to get hacked with no call, the refs are going to swallow their whistle on that too.
We can pull that trick once be surprised to see Green open on a short 3 again in that situation. Credit to LBJ drawing 2 defenders though. And I don't think Dwight hindered Currey @ all in terms of holding, he had his arms on him but Currey treated him like a normal screen not a hold, shook his arms off, a hold would have noticeably impeded him they were right not to call that.
Fouls completely took him out of this one, literally and rhythmically. I didn't even realize he was back in the game when he was at times. That said, he certainly helped keep DD to the worst +/- of the night and 5-15 shooting.
Yeah, it was like payback from his old hometown. He was jobbed by the refs but he did what he could out there in limited time.
Much needed bounce back game for him. He hasn't done anything on offense since the Dallas game. He got back to hitting corner 3s. Favorite was the delayed handoff from AD, that whole sequence was borderline comical.
Green might struggle here and there but the guy is like a machine from the 3 point line... I'm sure he is still somewhere upward of 42% from downtown. not like our "MACHINE" aka White Mamba...but like an actual machine.
he's historically a sub-10ppg guy, just who he is. it's pretty amazing that he can hit the percentage he does on such limited reps/involvement in the offense. it's part of his value, really. teams have to account for him, even when he's not getting the ball. it's like the opposite of most of our recent draft picks.
He's shooting over 44%. Which is amazing really. You can often count on him to make a big shot and he is just a super solid role-player. He'll have a bad game here and there, but most of the time he's just very good. Every team with championship aspirations should have a guy like that.
The shooting threat is always there and the other team respect that enough for LBJ and AD to operate freely without any worry from DG's guy. What is constant is the defensive ability on other side. He and Bradley are the best defensive guard combo in the NBA and are the real manna from heaven
I have a feeling Green will have off and on nights with his age and him just coming off a championship. He's getting some ticky tack fouls that are keeping him out of the game, but come playoff time, his defense, work ethic, and shooting are going to be invaluable.
that, and officials might be more concerned about slapping tons of fouls on guys early in playoff games. happens every year.
I like what Danny Green provides even though he's not getting enough shots off from three. His presence on the floor allows for others to get open because he's constantly moving and setting himself up as the trap to get others a better shot. We may have slightly overpaid for him but considering the market at that point, we had no choice. He's a winner and understands how to win in a championship team.
