I think he’s trying to pull “The Wilt” and lead the league in assists once late in his career.

he’s a turnover machine during his whole career though, and he will end up the all-time leader leader in turnovers for his career by next year, so we will have to get used to lots of turnovers from him

just going to be part of the package whether wise or not

but lazy deep iso 3’s when you are tired isn’t good offense

 

Yeah he needs to just give the ball to AD every time - rest your body LeBron.

 

It is early in the season, and while I want to take advantage of the early season schedule with all of the non playoff teams from last year, Frank has to start watching his mins.

 

I think once Kuzma gets more integrated - you will see both LeBron & AD's minutes go down.

 

I love LeBron and as much as some of you Kobe-fans detest it, he's clearly a better player than Kobe was in totality. However, using scoring efficiency when talking about LeBron can be incredibly misleading. LeBron rarely forces bad shots whereas Kobe was a tough shotmaker. Most of LeBron's buckets are easy shots and he doesn't force bad shots often so he passes it out. There isn't anything wrong with that but just quoting his shooting efficiency is terrible because he's more selective about the shots he takes. I remember he said he used to have a competition with Wade about who is more efficient scoring the ball and you only become efficient when you take selective shots.

 

I’m trying to focus on the positives these days as much as possible.

I see no benefit to trying to tear down another all time great that was wired differently in a completely different role.

Lakers have seen some all time legends don the jersey. We’re pretty dang spoiled. Lebron’s biggest detractors have focused primarily on his limited game, unklutchness, and narcissistic tendencies.

in spite of his limitations he’s an all time great, a genetic freak of nature, and we’d be wise not to run him into the ground. I’m not a huge fan of this PG position thing going on. Just feels like a mistake in the usage department for an aging high mileage player.

that being said, his talent as an all around stat stuffer has pretty much exceeded all of his peers. He needs more chips to move up the ranks, and he knows that.

 

Each had their lucky stretches and their unlucky stretches. Comparing greats usually revert to accomplishments. Lebron isn't done yet so you can't say he was better or worse than Kobe yet. NBA is a team sport so accomplishments are the only thing you can compare in the end.

If you are going by sheer basketball player, you would either be blind or Nick Wright and Shannon LispFace to say Lebron over Kobe. Kobe has zero weaknesses in basketball. Kobe had the single game 3-point record for years and he wasn't even a sniper. He can shoot Free throws, get to the hole, shoot from either elbow, post, use either hand, defend, clutch, everything and anything. Lebron is not a good shooter, not good at the line, post up game is meh, footwork is meh, and his clutch gene has been in question no matter how much Colin Pissherd wants to use his infamous "the last shot of the game analytics" chart to explain why Lebron is more clutch.

Lebron is 6'8 240 and is strong and fast. God given ability and size that Kobe doesn't have. Kobe is fast and strong but not at 240. Lebron was never 270, another BS inflated number to make him look more invisible. If Lebron was 270, than Karl Malone was 300 pounds.

Clutch is more than being the last shot that goes in to win. Clutch is things you can't measure and clutch isn't only the last second shot. I saw Kobe make defensive plays that were crushing, IE, block Sabonis in Game 3 of the 2000 WCF. I saw Kobe scare an entire team when it was last second time. You can't measure those things. I saw Kobe make 7 game winners in one year in 2010. Games that if the Lakers didnt win could have altered 1 seed spots to 5 seed spots. Isn't that valuable? How does Kobe only have 1 MVP?

Lebron will be more accomplished when his career is over. If things go right, maybe tie Kobe for titles before he is done. He will have the all-time scoring record, all the games played records and be the Tom Brady of his era. But the one thing he will never be is a better basketball player than Kobe. I only saw one guy better than Kobe and that was Michael Jordan. And that was because Michael had hands like Shaq and stamina like a Kenyan long distance runner. Hands and stamina were not natural. They were freakish anomalies.

Last note with Kobe. Kobe spent his first 8 years holding his game back. So to measure Lebron and Kobe would be inaccurate. Lebron came never holding his game back. It's hard to compare their careers evenly if that is what you are trying to do.
