I’m glad someone in the basketball aether is talking about faulty movement patterns. The knee can’t do that hundreds and thousands of times a day without injury. I still wish Russ wouldn’t go valgus on his jumper, but he doesn’t typically move like that. Zion looked awful moving. Yikes. I’d steer clear of him if he can’t change that.
He might. I do like his game. But this is what, the 3rd year they will be trying to play him next to Turner? They're going to have to trade one of them at some point unless they figure out how to play together.
As D. Soriano said , the 6 to 8 weeks timeline implies they removed the meniscus and did not repair it ... which could bring more pbs for his knee in the future
Brown, Buddy and co. being heavily overpaid. I'm really happy we didn't have to give Ingram close to 30 mil. a year. He is good but not 30 mio. good. Murray...a 23 year old borderline scrub coming off an ACL tear and being out for 16 months, averaging 6.6 ppg and 2 apg for his career...getting 16 mio. a year...absurd.
As for Zion, he is a good kid. Sucks to see him go down already...got hurt at Duke when his shoe blew up, hurt that same knee in the first game summer league and now surgery even before the first regular season game....not looking good. He needs to get rid of 40 pounds. It can't be that hard with pro coaching and pro cooks, right? so whats there to think about...just slim down to save your career.
actually it made zero sense to extend him. 1. You don't know yet what he turns out to be 2. He will be restricted...so whether you max him out now or next year makes no difference for the team 3. The blood cloth is still an issue on people's mind In other words: the only way BI would have extended now is if he would have taken a very significant paycut for security...something like a 4 year contract at 50-60 mio. Otherwise the team wants him to earn his extension and then get paid. Otherwise the team would be buying a pig in a poke which makes no sense.
If you didn't know the NBA history , you would think Ainge is a ex-Laker who takes pleasure in wasting the C Bags future . Even Magic couldn't have done it better
I think with this Jaylen contract, Ainge is overcompensating for his asset hoarding during the AD and Kiwi pursuit.
i'd say the same about murray, but the spurs have generally been correct when they've gambled on their in-house young talent. so we'll see. i thought jaylen brown's cash was silly given his production and general trajectory. in a couple years, you'll have him, walker, and tatum making like, 90+ million combined. it was the first rookie extension ainge has signed anyone to since rondo. i actually think this was a political move. nobody in the press is talking about it, but lebron and AD are in la in part because la paid kobe when everyone thought we shouldn't. nobody wants to go to boston because of danny's "shrewd management". you got the shrew part right.
it's funny--i only watched parts of the game, and every time i was tuned in, siakam sucked. he must have been lights-out when i was off doing other things.
