maybe with middleton you have a case? otherwise, while the counting stats may not be that far off, the general perception was MUCH different for those guys than it is for ingram and randle.

and are we talking age or experience? and which one should we be discussing?

randle signed a one-year MLE and then got a big deal from perhaps the biggest joke of a franchise in the league. ingram was considered of little value in trade as recently as the hour prior to the AD trade. the same would not have been said for any of the guys you listed. the ones with lower stats were contributing to winning teams, not iso-ing their way to the bottom of the standings.

in relations to their age as Lakers, so 3rd yrs of Klay, Kawhi, even Simmons weren't being looked at true #2's, how is Simmons even looked at as true #2 when he can't shoot from more than 5ft from the basket? He's more of a supped up Draymond right now....even Leonard for as accomplished as he was/is didn't get the "franchise" reign taking over talks till after they beat Mia the 2nd time around in the finals

for context purpose I"m not saying the trade for AD is/was wrong choice, just saying how easily we brush these former player of ours off (I too am guilty for brushing of Ball's impact on the gm). I think if James weren't here and we built the right culture around the youth it would've worked out to at least Por/Den lvl (not gsw lvl), whether that team ever wins is probably doubtful based on Por. failures thus far.

for us to be portland/denver, one of ingram and ball would need to be jokic or lillard. just don't see it. we didn't have the pieces.

and, as you mentioned, the guy that i worry about biting us is ball more than ingram, because ball had already shown he could impact the game in ways that lead to wins. just have never seen it from ingram. or randle, for that matter. neither defends well, despite physical tools that should allow for it, neither is useful without the ball in his hands, neither is scary enough behind the arc to be a consistent big-time scorer.

supped up offensively but not defense, Simmons just doesn't scare anybody offensively, 2yrs thus far of bad/poor playoff performances. He can be stopped when game slows down the paint is clogged

^ i liked him (a LOT)... but no. When you can get a guy like AD, you trade everyone. Simple as that.

35/15/5... great line for him. Let's see if he can consistently produce, that's his biggest issue offensively.

I have always liked BI. But if he scored had this line for the next 20 games, I would still trade him for AD. IN A HEARTBEAT!! Might try to get more for him but you do what ya gotta do!

A notorious slow starter to the season, Ingram has come out guns blazing this season.

I do believe our environment sucked for young guys to succeed. I'm happy for Ingram and hope he can keep it up.

that was a big game, and yeah, his 3% is nuts so far. great job on the boards.

bear in mind that stats on NO might be inflated, counting-wise, because they're going to be on a breakneck pace.

aside from hitting 50%+ from three, though, he looks a lot like the guy we had. we'll see if a) he can keep it up and b) he can stay on the floor.

Good for them and him. He’s an easy guy to root for, so I hope he has a wildly successful career.

Ingram with more opps and does not have to share the rock? Of course, his numbers would be higher not saying he isn't talented. What I will miss from Ingram is his on ball defense plus he can facilitate too.

Yes, I would want him to succeed but his health is more important...

I want him to succeed, and of course his health is important, but his eternal salvation is what really matters.
