Well said. As much as I hate to admit it.

It begins, after one and a half preseason games. This is why I've been screaming for a 3rd PG to be signed, Price has to be kept on.

Well no surprise there. It was only a matter of time before he sat out due to something.

Should just waive him. All he does is just muck everything up. Can't wait until he is off this team.

He just shouldn't play. Let's say at best he can play a quarter and a half every other game, that is gonna mess up with the chemistry of the team.

Nash said it himself: "Coach, I think I'm done."

Nash said he's ok. Experienced "little sciatica problem" in last nights game. Didn't want it to get worse so asked to come out

Steve Nash is listed as the probable starter for Lakers on Thursday vs. Jazz (along with the 4 regulars)

This is just stupid. We'll be dealing with this all season long...In and out of the lineup.

Exactly why I think he should just call it quits. He's doing nothing to help the team when he can only play a quarter every other game. It messes up rotations and team chemistry.

With Steve Nash asking out of Sunday's game, the attention only intensified on what the team planned to do with him over the next six months. He will sit out about one-fourth of their 82 games throughout the regular season, approximately one a week, to help manage chronic nerve damage in his back, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Nash, 40, played only 15 games last season and could not finish the Lakers' 116-75 loss to Golden State on Sunday, their second-biggest preseason defeat since they started tracking exhibition scores and stats in 1982.

"He just didn't feel himself. He didn't say what it was particularly," Lakers Coach Byron Scott said Monday. "Being that he's been in this league for that long, and he understands his body a whole better than I do, I take that for what it's worth and sit him down the rest of the game."

I agree, but he's not here to help the team, he's here to collect his last checks. That't not even cynicism, that's basically what he's said. He stays in as good of shape as he can at least, and I guess there's a chance he can be a good teacher/mentor to some of the young guys, so maybe there's that at least.

Yeah he's been a good mentor to Lin. Hopefully that's how he earns his damn pay check because it certainly won't be on the court.

Time for Byron to flex his balls and develop a consistent starting rotation that doesn't include Nash.

Can me crazy, but I like this depth chart:
    lin/nash/price
    kobe/Clarkson/ellington
    Henry/young/Johnson
    randle/boozer/kelly
    davis/hill/sacre

Sciatica isn't always a big deal. I get it when I drive long distances and sometimes when I squat heavy. Then it goes away even with activity. In Nash's case, it might be a new issue or it might have something to do with his other problems. If it's the latter, it's a problem.

Sciatica is tough - can't really run if it hits you. It comes and goes. I'm not that worried about it honestly. We'll see what happens but most of us were skeptical that Nash could still play a whole lot. Again, if he can play 12-15 minutes a game for about 60 games it would be a plus for us. But I'm not counting on anything. Price was a great pick up for cheap. We needed that third PG desperately just like Weezy said. I like Price's motor. He's very competitive. And thus far his offense has been better than advertised. Despite what Nash said earlier, I think this will clearly be his last season.

^He's not giving us 60 games. We're only going to be playing the 4th preseason game and he's already hurting; not only that, the Lakers coaching staff is already planning on sitting him out at least 1 game a week which is already 1/4th of the season. We'll be extremely lucky if he gives us 25-30 games and those games should come off the bench, IMO.
