That was the year Time Warner offered their huge deal as well.

Wow... Mostly not the reaction I was expecting to see here...

    Except this.

With the veteran leadership on this team, the fact they told him what is expected, him agreeing to it...

He brings any sort of production... Win, win, win.

Lakers have a LOT of dude's with chips on their shoulders.

    I like that.

C'mon... Double digits big man, next to AD!? The rotations, different looks you can give. I don't care how likeable he is. If he can produce... BRING IT!

I always said, Bynum was better than Dwight. Would of picked a healthy Drew over Dwight 100/100 times. Dwight with even 50% killer mentality would physically dominate this league even more than he did in his great days. Physically I expect him to be close to that ability on the boards and pick and roll as he was back in the day. As it has been stated his problem is between the ears. If Dwight can come in and be like Javele attitude wise he will kill it here. In fact, he will be able to get himself a payday (again) if he can prove to be that double-double guy on this team.

Check that ego Howard and you get paid and get one up on Charles Barkley with that ring at the end of the year. Go delusional you may never play in the league again once the Lakers let you go.

Such a shame that those kind of physical gifts and freak athleticism was wasted on Dwight. There's a ton of fill in the blank names, but I'll keep it Laker related. Give those tools to someone like Ronny Turiaf and you're looking at a first ballot hall of famer. Someone with a heart who loved the game and put team first.

They don't know how to from bigs in Orlando. Had Shaq not been a greedy, lazy, egotistical fatass during the back half of his career he would've been the best big ever. Not comparing the talent levels of the two by any stretch. But the Magic do have work to do as a farm team.

Dwight’s jersey number is just so annoying to look at to me. I know we’ve got a ton of retired numbers, but 39? C’mon man. He vows not to be a distraction and blend in, yet chooses the most obscure of numbers to wear on the court. This effin guy...

Dwight looks like he did a foot-long line of coke before that picture was snapped.

yeah bynum not only had a post up game and the footwork to go along with it but he was used to playing in big games so the pressure didn't phase him. not to mention he wasn't an egotistical moron like dwight was during that part of his career. drew was just a kid who did dumb sh** like parking in handicap spots

    truly a wasted career

So random. I can think of 100 reasons to criticize Dwight, but his number choice is not on that list.

Last season, Noah was the 8th best defensive rated center. The problem was that he did it in short bursts minutes by avg 16mins per game. Remember we were rumored to be interested in Favors as well this summer and he was the 6th best defensive rated center last season avg 23mins per game.

I would have preferred a platoon of these high motor defensive guys over Dwight (ie McGee/Noah/Faried), but make no mistake about this, we did this to ourselves.

We knew AD was in a contract year when we traded for him and we knew he had an aversion to play the 5 as a result of it. It's part of the reason he wanted out of Nawlins, cause they never sincerely got him a 5 to play along with and when they did with Boogie, they allegedly didn't sincerely retain him after he went down when the Achilles.

If anything Dwight did us a solid by taking a non-guaranteed deal and agreeing to a buyout too make it happen. The primary reason we went with Dwight is cause unlike Noah, dude has the ability to stay on the floor (avg. 30mins per game for the last 4 seasons before s*** hit the fan in DC last season).

    Hoping for the best!

So what was the point of saying what I highlighted? Were you finding fault with something or FO, or just stating a fact prefaced in an odd way? We also "did" AD "to ourselves" .... right? AD has said he was always going to opt out after this season no matter where he was playing if traded by NO, before deciding to sign next contract and we did sign McGee and Cousins to play the 5.
