They're allowed to not like Pope/think we didn't get value. It doesn't make the downers, it just makes them opinionated.
Where were you last season bro? Hey Becky with the no hair, if you didn't fight the hive mind last year, you can't call anyone Debbie. Btw, me and that dude are not the same. Me and you actually have more in common. We both don't see any good use to having cLippers.
hope you can keep that optimism when hes passing it to no one, fumbling passes and getting destroyed by his defensive assignments
ironically, most of the naysayers last year hated the cap space plan. and now you're really mad about it not working out how you wanted. cap space plans suck. we made lemonade. deal with it, debz.
I was still watching the games, just not posting around here. All I've got to say to y'all is the lakers are the favorites to win the title&that's exciting, like 0 reason to sweat the small shiz IMO. the end.
Most of us were pumped for Bron too last season and I personally had 0 reason to sweat finding him a running mate in free agency this summer. I'm stoked with AD via trade, but if that was really the endgame, we wasted year 1 of Bron. We should have just went all in on AD last year so that we made the playoffs. Cause seeing what happened (dub injuries & "lacky" bounces), we possibly could have rode a wave to the Finals with AD/Bron.
Wat? How much more could possibly have been offered at the deadline .... 10% ownership of the Lakers?
1. Zo 2. Bi 3. Hart 4. #4 5. Moe 6. Bonga 7. JJ 8. Top 8 2021 or '22 1st 9. 2024 or '25 1st 10. 2023 1st pick swap 11. 2022 2nd At the very least, these 11 assets plus the ability to have Solomon dumped onto us and maybe another pick swap if we really wanted to spare Kuz. All that to salvage year 1 of Bron... And especially if we weren't real players for a max guy anyway this summer...yeah, in retrospect that was probably the better play. Especially since Solomon wouldn't have limited our Green/Boogie/AvBrad free agency. Btw, @TIME all jokes aside, Im just going to tag you in cause you were perturbed that I was willing to part with so many assets in a Kawhi trade last summer. Part of it is if you want 3max players, you need to create the cap space for it. Bottomline: I wanted the Lakers to get 3max. They tried...they failed...and I believe their contigency wasnt the best route we could have taken cause our roster still holds some deep concerns for me (ie our frontline depth which has Bron/AD potentially doing more in the regular season for a projected Finals team).
would have been hard to till out the team the rest of the year and not "waste" a year of Bron's career tho. What was your solution and contingency plan for that? Asking for a friend. :Joshharthearthands:
Faried, Wilson Chandler, Wes Matthews, Markieff Morris (Klutch), McLemore (Klutch), Noah, Kanter, Melo, Monroe, Lin, Ellington, Brewer, McGruder, Woods, Frazier (AD's guy) just to name a few. Basically all the buyout/waived guys. Of course we for have again tapped into South Bay for guys like Andre Ingram also.
You live anywhere near the Lakers, vash? They need you in that front office. A better idea for every move or attempted move they made.
You said Melo, so I think you should log off right now, go sit in the corner, and think about what you have just done.
Hindsight is 20/20, so I'm not trying to stunt on our FO. I would have gone the Kawhi route all the way. I'm not upset about how we went at it. I'm just upset with the contigency. Cause other than Kawhi, I just don't understand why we were never really strongly in play for Butler or Ky. And if a max guy wasn't in the cards, I feel we should have brought back assets we lost in the AD deal to still have a shot at trading for a 3rd star, cause presently we're bare in immediate assets. Btw, I'm sure Rob would start looking at me sideways with my dress code. #TheIronBackedKnight
Screw Butler. Kyrie never an option. The obvious priority now is getting Boogie back to star level big game impact level and getting him insurance policy to put his mind at ease for one more season for Bird rights at what you said .... 17M ..... to be able to retain him internally for fair dollars the following year. I like that better than Kyrie to be honest.
in fairness to rob criticism, why cont to reward kcp with undeserved $, dont you think we couldve done better to show boogie some love and given him kcp $ and made kcp take the $ boogie got instead? that sort gesture might have gone loglng way towards getting boogie back again next season. im sure he only took our offer cause of AD/Rondo
If the Lakers 2019 1st round pick doesn't turn into #4... IMO AD might still not be a Laker. That was part of the problem, had AD been a Laker last season, they possibly make the playoffs which was an issue for Pelicans, obviously because the 1st round pick would have been significantly lower.
