yea for that kind of $, i wouldve taken hood instead, lil bigger, some post moves, n doesnt seem generally as stupid as kcp...i wouldnt have done 4 yrs for curry tho, 2 yrs are good with me
Hood was the guy who purposely wouldn't play in the Finals because he was upset about his minutes, right?
Hood was terrible with the Cavs. So bad that nobody knew if he wouldn’t play or they weren’t playing him because he was so bad. I strongly dislike KCP and even I’d rather have him. There’s also this https://nesn.com/2018/06/rodney-hood-explains-why-its-been-tough-to-play-with-lebron-james/
^Hood always looked like a mental midget to me. Not saying he isn't right...but thats how championship teams operate and if you can't handle the heat, then simply put, you are not a champion. Hood had a terrible attitude on the court and looked completely disinterested. Unacceptable to get millions for nothing...
This. He became somewhat of their sixth man during the playoffs when Lillard and CJ needed scoring help.
I hope we can find some value for this guy in a trade this yr, yea I know he has a defactor no trade clause again but dam Rich/James, we paid that tax for 3yrs now, enough is enough
his salary is no longer out of line with his production/ability, so i'm not sure it matters. i do think he should be willing to be traded should the need arise, given that we've treated him very well. i'm just not sure we'll be itching to do so, as his sub-league average salary might undershoot his production.
yes I know his pay is fair, I just dont want him here, he's not needed IMO with Cook, Daniels, Green....they all do what KCP does but maybe better and less of a d******. KCP is still here to get his $, he's the only one out of all the 2yrs signing that has a player opt, so that to me says he's not here to win, he's here to get that exposure and that big long term deal elsewhere (or god forbid from us)
He’s putting in work. Hopefully his play exceeds his contract. Might make us feel better about past contracts. (Doubt it tho) He continues to gamble on himself. Didn’t take the big extension when he had the chance, and now trying to leave the door open to reclaim it at every opportunity or not by choice since he can’t score the big commitment from any team. But when the shiny word “potential“ leaves the equation, you are viewed as being who you are. Any team that gives him 100 mil contract will regret it.
I really, really dislike KCP and his game immensely. He's made me furious these past two years. I was expecting great defense and timely shooting and he's done neither. He bricks when the game gets tight and he gambles incessantly on D without being able to stay in front of most guards. I can't believe how bad he's been for the amount of money he's made. It's time for this guy to earn it or get out of here. I get that his contract was the price of doing biz with Klutch and our ability to land Lebron and AD, but as far as his play on the court I've been more disappointed in him than any Laker signing I can remember. I guess he could turn it around this year and demonstrate that he can be a valuable player for us, but I've written him off until he proves himself capable of doing so. I remember before last season started I thought he was going to finally show us something, but no. Still waiting.
He’s needs to be just a catch and shoot guy. Along with playing some resemblance of defense. Guys a turnover waiting to happen when he dribbles or has to create his own shot.
True. But he's so streaky I just don't even trust him as a catch and shoot guy. Luckily we've got Danny Green now who can fit that role to a tee. I'm hoping that having Bradley this year relegates KCP to a bench role and limited minutes. He could get hot and provide some offense there and maybe not be as much of a turnstile D dude.
