he needs a ton of work on his defensive footwork if he's going to be a 3 though. He's got the foot speed I think, but he rarely uses it defensively and gets torched by some quicker 4s. Vogel and Hollins hopefully will get him whipped into shape.
I have been thinking more and more that they may roll out Kuz more @ the 3 and maybe Lebron @ the point forward 4 and then AD play the 5 except when it's against a big banger in center of which aren't many but in those cases we have Mcgee or Cousins do the 5 then AD @ 4 and Le Bron @ the 3 Kuz off bench. Having LBJ @ the 4 some also seems to be likely in view of the lack of bigs signed. Thing is we can play with this roster. Guys like Green can play the 2-3 offensively and cover 1-3 on D which allows us to even have LBJ @ PG. It all depends on who we play and who we key on defense. I think we will see roster flexibility which I'm fine with as long as it isn't haphazard Luke Walton lineups.
I think people think about his defense as a whole as bad, which it is, but he’s a better defender at the 3 than he’s given credit for. He has some bad tendencies, but there were a lot of games last season where he was guarding 3s and doing a good job on them just because his length makes up for poor reads and such.
Indeed he had a nice stretch guarding SFs in last end Nov/Dec . I agree with the TRD , his defensive footwork needs a ton of work . LFR made a video pointed that out last year . Consistency is the name of the game .
I agree that Kuz is ideally a 3, LeBron’s backup. But yes he does need to work on his defense to be effective there. I look at him as more of a 3 though, that’s why I don’t have him penciled in at the 4 and feel we still need another big as insurance for Cousins and McGee if AD doesn’t want to play the 5. But on another note, it’s looking like we will get to see Kuz with Team USA, Lillard withdrew today and I think they’re down to 12 or 13 guys for a 12 man roster.
Overall I think is beneficial for Kuz to be playing Team USA. The pros far outweigh the cons which are a lot of basketball over the course of a year and we don't want to see the Josh Hart effect. Too much basketball that he wasn't used to and he was plagued with injuries last year. On the positive side, he'll get great coaching, gell with other stars of the league and become a better leader/player in the process.
He’s a tweeter yet to show he can be an effective starter at either the 3 or 4. Streaky. Inconsistent. It’s interesting that of all the young talent, that’s who we kept. Might not have been our choice, but it was spun that way. This year it will be interesting to see how we use him and how he grows into whatever role he plays. This is a huge year for him.
tatum would be a solid backup for us. might be able to step in when kuz doesn't have it going. enjoy the treasure trove, danny.
I don't know what I enjoy more, having Davis or the C Bags not having Davis, the denouement for the last three years back and forth with Boston fans was most satisfying
you know English is not my primary language, I use words I read from books in casual conversations, often applied badly
Did not know. Are you a native where you are? Not the loincloth type. If so how did the Lakers catch your fancy? No not that either.
Yeah I agree that he's a tweener that can't defend star wings or real PF's like AD. From what I've seen so far, his ceiling seems to be somewhere in the Rashard Lewis to Antawn Jamison territory, both of whom are great players in their own right.
I agree with everyone saying he's a three. I think our end game lineup would have him at the three with Lebron at pg and AD and Boogie as the bigs. The fifth guy would either be Green or Bradley depending on the matchups (small quick pg or larger pg).
