Just patiently waiting for the terms of the contract. It could be a two day deal and if that's the case we then instead of 1 roster spot open we would have two.
wonder why we are giving a 2nd rounder an unnecessary 2 year guarantee? Is this advanced contract maneuvering 101?
I bet he's already making moves to accommodate keeping Boogie next year. Opponents think we are going to be cash strapped But then he'll bundle a nice young prospect with a KCP and free up enough to make something happen. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I need to just slow down and enjoy this season.
and he's gone now in a deal to clear cap space for a max guy. could be a mastermind at work creating all kinds of future possibilities
Let's go with the current trend..... "Does Rob Pelinka know what 1+1 equals? Sources say he's scrambling to find out the answer."
Don't think he got the contract just because of klutch, I think the sky's the limit for him as long as he works hard and keeps his head on straight. His handles, dribble penetration, mid range game will translate well in the NBA, also has nice vision, has a real nice touch just needs to fix the loop he has on his stroke. He s probably the 2nd best wing next to LeBron on the roster right now on getting to the rim and finishing. He needs to work on his technique with the on ball defense, but he so strong, wide, long, and low center of gravity, it s hard to get around him. And even if they do, he has enough athleticism and length to recover and block or alter the shot, he has a chance of being a lockdown defender. Only 18 and his body isn't even developed, but he s already very strong, his wingspan and especially his hand size will be a major advantage, tough kid from Chicago, just a smooth natural baller. Also seems to have leadership qualities and just has that "it".
why aren't we giving him 4yrs? we gona need these cheaper 2nd deals, I see teams like Phi and the green turds giving 4yrs deals to their high lvl 2nder's
Players tend to improve more with their paychecks on the line. Why pay a #2 rounder 4 years? He might just call it a day as most #2 rounders don't stick around anyways.
Nah it's cause there is some brilliant plan that will go down next summer where we'll need a trivial 200k to salary match for Giannis and it can't happen without that THT guaranteed 2nd year. Word to gawd, it's #RobsPlan
it also works opposite way too, Tor gave Powell big 4 yr ext after his 2yr deal was done and now regretting it....4yrs to 2nder's is worth while due to the low cost. I get your pt bout slacking off but 4yrs at vet min really isn't anything to rest your efforts on, especially for an 18/19 yr old that could be a solid player.
gotta be fun to have that happen for the first time but if he doesn't feel disrespected, he has no hope of remaining in the league. SMH another wasted draft pick.
