    I'm sure if they were given a choice, they'd take AD. But why not both? AD was born to be a Laker. People are forgetting how good he is. He barely played last season due to the benching after the trade demand. In today's news cycle that only cares about a 48 hour period, he's way, way, way out of mind right now. But he was arguably the MVP in the '17-'18 season. He will now be playing with a player who still might be the best player in the league. The media wants to hate on the Lakers, and I do agree with some of their takes as it pertains to how much our team being what it is has nothing to do with our management. But right now, for this upcoming season, we are one of the 3 best teams in the league on paper.

    What's funny is last season they ripped our strategy of signing playmakers (and rightfully so). Now we go the other way and sign two 3nD guards in Green and Bradley, get another top 5 player, and get a steal in Cousins for 3 million......and I've seen several segments about "How will Lebron make these parts work?" Really? These "parts?"

    I thought Rob was calling AD in particular because it was the waiving of his trade kicker that allowed us to get some of these guys. Rob just wanted to make sure he was ok with the way we were spending “his money”.

    I get that. And I don't really think it's a problem. I just think it's not the best look to have your 26-year old new guy saying publicly he got to "pick" everyone on the roster. That is all.

    as a side note, one of the things I read that helped me help my daughters enjoy watching Laker games was sharing things about the players with them. Tidbits from the board here, stories I read online, social media fodder.

    Guys in many cases don't care about the personal side of things, and honestly it might be less messy, but many fans want to know more details about the players in order to embrace rooting for the player/team. Like knowing Odom's personal struggles might give a particular fan a soft heart toward his situation and lead to a jersey sale and fan for life. Knowing things about our favorite athletes/heroes gives us insight into what makes them tick. Does he have kids? Did he lose a kid? Is her/his picture in the locket, etc?

    Now I'm curious tbh
