I dont know McGee and I have no sources, but the man was on a minimum, one-year contract. He was playing for a pay check. I know he wasn't playing well, but the man wanted exposure and came here to compete. He was getting neither. I could understand his frustration. Not to mention, it's one thing to play behind Cousins who was one of the best bigs in the game at one point and Zubac who was just a kid that had a nice stretch. Hopefully McGee doesn't get pneumonia 2 months into this season.
Actually, I thought he played pretty well overall. Unfortunately, he got really sick and was hospitalized, but he played his best ball with us.
JaVale really missed LeBron too, they were great on pick and rolls. But of course, LeBron makes everyone look better by opening things up for them. It's part of the reason I want Kuz to start, he will have a great opportunity to shine by feasting on all the attention LeBron and AD will get, push him to all star caliber player quicker IMO.
12M isn't bad all IMO having an AVG of 6M each. How about we add Cousins to the 12M to put us at 14M between all 3 guys? Looks like a steal to me. You win some, you lose some. See Avery Bradley as well.
That’s a stupid comment by Max, Jerry West isn’t running the Clippers front office, he’s one of their guys, he’s a consultant, a closer, he’s not their GM. And had they not landed Kawhi I bet they do spend that money on guys exactly like that.
If Javale can avoid any serious weeks at a time injuries or illnesses this year, same with Boogie.... look the hell out. He played like a freaking all star prior to those last season and has been working with his decent looking J to possibly add more to his game. Am glad he's pissed at that dumb comment.
To quote @LTLakerFan Kellerman should stick to boxing which he is slightly above average at... Also he's on record saying that Leonard is more clutch than 24. Really? McGee should start until Cousins fully gets his bearings plus he fits more of Vogel's defensive mantra.
I don't get what Kellerman is complaining about. Both players are on two year deals that have player options, so at best it's a 1 year contract and at worst it's 2 years, so they're pretty short contracts.
Took a page out of the Steve Smith/Skip book. Max is still my guy, he's obviously probably all in Slippers in the West doe, he has to after all the lil Leonard praise. Whatevs. I dont sweat the small ish.
What I give Kellerman props is that he usually doesn't go into over the top histrionics like Smith does.
Retaining JaVale is going to be one of those under the radar moves. It’s not a flashy use of cap space, but it gives us great front court depth and a reliable skill set that fits in great with our personnel. He’s going to be the beneficiary of so many easy clean up opportunities and lobs.
Max Kellerman is alright but he's also never played ball. To discount what McGee and KCP can bring for 12mil is wrong. 12 mil is 10% of the cap for 2 very serviceable role players. 2 that often get to start. So that's just BS on Max's part. KCP got market rate, no more and a short term deal. I think we got a bargain on McGee. I'm not sure what the market was for him out there I think he really wanted to come back here. Considering we need centers, 4 mil per year for Javelle is great for what he gives us. Taking out his sick period last season he was giving us around 25 mpg.
Glad McGee is back... I feel like he always wanted to be back, if it worked out. Kellerman is a Clown. Just spewing the Clipps propoganda like the rest of the talking heads.
I said last year Warriors not retaining JaVale would come back to haunt them, IMO, it POSSIBLY did have a series facing affect after Boogie and Looney injuries.
