To be fair, really bad injuries take a loooong time to heal from and he had the worst. Look at Hayward last year, took him all season to even start to look like himself. Next season is when Cousins will likely be able to reach 70-80% of his former self if he ever will, we will see. It’s worth the gamble to me though, have to go all in this year.
To be fair he was basically coming off of TWO injuries because of the quad injury. Whole offseason to heal got me excited
Dude needs to get off the Melo diet and drop 25 pounds... if he can do that it will do wonders for him. He could get a big payday if he does what Julius did and get into shape this summer. He needs to shed weight.
70% of prime Boogie is still an all-star big. But yeah, dropping 20 lbs would help his body tremendously.
He played pretty damn well for a big coming back from an achilles, all things considered. It's not for a lot of cheddar... This is a great signing.
So who's starting, Javale or Boogie? Might be an obvious answer, I dunno. I feel like Javale's defense would be very valuable in the starting lineup while Boogie's offense would be more useful off the bench.
Yea this was my thought. Boogie, from what I always remembered, always wanted to wear that Purple&Gold.
That’s how I’d go. LeBron and McGee work very well together, ally-oops all day, and McGee and Davis on defense is noice. I’d have Cousins come off the bench for McGee after his 7/8 mins or so of pure energy out there.
If Cousins gets anywhere close to his pre-injury form, this signing alone will almost make up for not getting Kawhi. Combined with the excellent depth we now have thanks to the recent signings, we may actually be slightly better off than having Kawhi and only vet. mins, so I'll remain optimistic that this is finally the season we end the title drought.
This. Boogie will need extra time to heal, I felt GS rushed him back from an Achilles injury still fresh which made him injure his quad. Their medical staff was highly criticized by Iggy.
1 yr 2.3 mil off the bench. He wants to prove himself. He will be motivated. He wants a shot at one last payday. He needs to start https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/27134148/lakers-agree-cousins-bring-back-rondo
