So not even official word if kawhi met with raptors?

If he did, what's the hold up?

If he wants clippers why not let them know he wanted another star there before the meeting?

We don't have 32m without renouncing all our free agent cap holds, including KCP.

As of right now KCP is a 15.6m caphold (130% of last year's deal) via his early bird.

We have to renounce it to sign Kawhi and if Kcp goes unsigned by any other team, we gain his early bird rights by offering him a vet min deal or some or all of the room exception.

Next summer we will have gained his full bird rights and can sign dude for up to his max (30% of cap as a 7-9 year player)... although that wouldn't be wise haha.

I am in a timezone 12 hours ahead of EST. I haven't been sleeping well the past 4 days, refreshing tweeter feeds every 10-15 minutes to see if Lakers Nation have secured the biggest signing in the season's FA market, spending my days at work like a living dead, feeding coffee beans to paper shredders instead of coffee machines, attending meetings with dozy eyes and extreme fatigue... If this drags till next week, I'll be a happy fan should you decide to come to LAL, but a pissed off human being if I get fired from my job.

So... For the sake of my sanity, health and livelihood, I am pleading to you that you just make that damn announcement quickly - regardless if you choose the Lakers or not, and let everyone else get back to their normal lives. I wish you the very best in all your sporting and commercial engagements.

On the Kawhi front, told he’s not making a decision tonight and it may not be until the next few days. He and his reps are going through the process and taking their time before deciding the next move. No 2-year deals have been discussed.

Jalen said he was going back on a 2 year deal though and this says the opposite that, "no 2 year deals were discussed".

 

Pretty much every other big name (and even bigger than Kawhi injuries notwithstanding) were signed before free agency started and here we are on July 3rd and it might be days until he makes up his mind. He sounds like a pain in the a**.

I only root for the Lakers and not the players. I didn’t like LeBron before he signed with LA and I didn’t think much of Kawhi. I only care if they help the Lakers get to 17. Period.

So AD will officially sign on the 6th, maybe LeBron, AD, Kuz and magic can set up a meeting with Leonard and convince him as a team.
