If he is resigning with Toronto why hasn't there been any announcement yet? Its not that big a deal at this point amirite? Makes me think twice on Jalens prediction

He had enough class to save Canada grief on Canada day. If he is going to Toronto does he have it in him to ruin our 4th?

Which I think might add to the Kawhi, keeping teams silent rumors.

Okay, but we have AD's bird rights, and he said he was opting out. Meaning, if they sign Kawhi first, then they can go over the cap signing AD.

It doesn’t work that way. AD has a cap hold which is his bird rights. If he opts out, his cap hold is still there due to his bird rights, we would have to renounce that to get enough room for Kawhi....

Then you lose AD because you have no money to sign him. Aka not going to happen.

cap hold is larger than his salary, though. and you have to keep it to keep bird rights.

so i guess if no kawhi now, then probably no kawhi ever.

still ok, though. we have anthony davis and lebron james, folks.

This sucks. Not looking good. Some businesses up here feeling very confident. And I hate that the Lakers would be trying to hold a spot open for him next year to just repeat this crap.

His ring this year was a total fluke - no KD and no Klay, and Looney and Cousins hurt. Yeah, he had that shot against Philly, but almost went to 7 games against 4 healthy players. Would be like Malone beating the Bulls without MJ and Tony and Rodman, but saying “hey, we beat Pippin and Kerr.” Or beating the Lakers without Kobe, Lo, and Ron, but hey, you beat Gasol and Fisher.

If we wants to run it back to prove it wasn’t a fluke, ok. But I still think he dragged this out to hurt the Lakers, since with GS hurt and losing no KD, Bron and Ad are the biggest threats. This was calculated to hurt his competition.

So I’m watching espn and I’m learning more from you guys here than from the talking heads there. I’m so glad I came here, and left Reddit in the rear view.

I am also in the "he's dead to me" camp if he goes to Toronto. I don't want him in L.A. in a couple years. He can join Paul George in the Hall of Ignominy if all this drama ends up with him staying put.

I just got off the phones - been trying to figure out if there's any truth to this Jalen Rose report. From what I can gather, the Lakers have no knowledge of Kawhi leaning towards the Raptors. I'm told that if they were fairly confident in the matter, they would tell AEG right away and start reaching out to free agents shortly after, which you would hear about.

Kawhi in LA - Yayyy, Kawhi to LA, Vegas moves odds in our favor, signing imminent

Kawhi in Tor - Noooo, Kawhi to Tor, Vegas odds in their favor, signing imminent

No one knows what’s going on. They are just riding the waves at the current time.

I hear ya but he can only play against whomever laces ‘em up and is on the floor. I think Philly will be a tough out... That game 7 shot was amazing.

Everything broke their way. I’m not sure they could do it again.
