    i know everyone is getting antsy, but we gotta sit tight a little bit longer here... nice to see that we are slowly making some min additions to the roster... would be great to get official word so we can unplug for the holiday weekend, but im not holding my breath...

    I have a simple explanation for why Kawhi's decision is taking so long: his camp is split between the Lakers and Raptors.

    I think most of (if not all of) the noise of Kawhi wanting to come to the Lakers has been generated by those close to Kawhi but not from the man himself. It's well known that Kawhi's family are Lakers fans and they would love nothing more than for him to sign with their favorite team. The rest of his camp can see the better business potential in signing with the Lakers with regards to New Balance and overall opportunities.

    However, Kawhi may not share the same sentiments. He stated he's not a Lakers fan in a fairly recent interview, and he appears to value trustworthiness above maybe even anything else. He trusts the Raptors after having a very successful season, but the recent turmoil with the Lakers front office makes them difficult to trust especially after just a few meetings.

    I could see this being a situation where most people surrounding Kawhi are pulling him towards the Lakers and giving him very good reasons to do so, but he still feels more comfortable with the Raptors. A divided camp like that would naturally translate into a delayed decision, since Kawhi understands his family just wants what they think is best for him, but he's not yet entirely sold on signing with the Lakers.

    This is all speculation, I'm no insider, so watch Kawhi sign with us later today and prove me very wrong.

    I agree with nearly all of this. My spin is that Kawhi isn’t committing quickly because he knows everyone is kind of stuck waiting at this point and he might be waiting for either the Lakers or Raptors to slip up to help guide the decision. (I personally don’t think Clippers were ever in his cards outside of maybe like a 5% chance)

    That question he asked Magic about the SA trade is interesting because he could even be using what he learns here for when he eventually comes to LA to retire. I think it’s fairly universal we expect him to retire somewhere in LA if nothing else changes.

    I think he knows the Lakers are better in practically every category and a better decision business wise, but he probably does feel more comfortable with the Raptors which I understand. His camp is very likely Lakers sided and he’s probably more Raptors. I can’t see the camp possibly pushing for the Raptors.

    I feel he’s coming to Lakers still. I think his camp wins this one.

    Maybe he’s saying something along the lines of he likes those players and being from LA they got him into the game, but as far as being a fan he’s with whoever else.

    I was born in Chicago and I’d credit MJ and Rodman as getting me into basketball, but I’ve never necessarily been a Bulls fan. I’ve always gravitated towards players for whatever reason.

    Hopefully it's just a meeting. But if we don't see Kawhi I'm going to start getting worried that this isn't a meeting but a celebration for the team.
