The big one here isn't even the Lakers, it's the Clipper and Raptors slide. Vegas seems convinced Kawhi is coming to the Lakers. The Clippers going all the way to +1600 is not indicative of a team that has Kawhi Leonard on it. Raptors at +1000 either.

Now Vegas could be wrong, but these odds definitely have my interest peaked.

His career PER is 22.6 so he may be just on the outside of the Top 35.

I'm not a big PER guy, but it is another stat that shows the absolute dominance of Anthony Davis who I believe can still take leaps forward. He still tends to take bad shots and I'm not even sure he has as "go-to" move as a scorer (think- Kobe fadeaway).

Yeah, but unfortunately, his first 3 were under 20, first two at 16. That'll drop his average.

I think what makes Kawhi great is more about his elite two way game, rather than his offensive efficiency. Watching him in the playoffs, I could see that he can still make strides in taking more efficient shots, and that'll help with players like Lebron and AD around him. But when you take a look at where Lebron and AD score, mainly around the rim, there's a reason why they're so high.

We were in 4th place when Lebron got hurt. Lonzo, Ingram, Kuzma and Hart all get a year better. Then adding the production of Dlo, Randle, Nance, Clarkson and #4? That's a #1 seed with insane depth. Lebron and AD are HOFers but you can't win a title with 2 players and no depth.

Not that it matters because we couldn't have held on to some of those players + sign Lebron without opening up cap space, but like I said, the plan all along was to sign 2 max players. We signed one and traded for one, which isn't the same. There's no denying that we leveraged our future and depth with the AD trade. If you had the choice of Lebron + Kawhi/Butler/Kyrie + all our kids + future draft picks over what we have now, you would choose that wouldn't you? That was the 2018/2019 plan. I'm not complaining btw. I'm just saying how it is. I liked our team before the trade and I like our team after the trade as well. But I don't agree that AD cures all because I feel it was somewhat of a lateral move, all things considered, and we still have work to do. Sign that 2nd max player.

Why do you have Clippers ahead on business outside of basketball? And location? (his home closer to Inglewood if they wind up there?)

No actually I think this was the plan all along.

LeBron + a FA signing (originally supposed to be Paul George I'd bet) + trading for Anthony Davis with bonus points for keeping as many kids as possible. I'd bet money on that in fact. Would I rather have LeBron + one Max FA + the kids? Hell no honestly. Again, I'm a fan of the kids, but what we have a chance to do right now is sort of unprecedented. If we are able to convince Kawhi to join, we're looking at three of the best 6 maybe 7 players in the game on the same team. That really hasn't been done since maybe the 60s with West, Baylor, and Chamberlain although there's an argument for Magic, Kareem, and Worthy.

Obviously if we miss on Kawhi it'll hurt, but ultimately we still have two of the best players in the game on the team. If you're worried about Davis picking up enough slack, you need to watch more Anthony Davis. Go watch him sweep the 3 seed Blazers in 2018 with his best teammate being Rajon Rondo. His numbers before NO started messing with his minutes and sitting him on purpose: 29.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.7 steals, 2.6 blocks. Those are numbers only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has put up in the history of the league (1975 before he joined the Lakers).

Not ahead but simply more attractive than Toronto. Since both the Clippers and the Lakers are in LA, I would imagine that Kawhi would have very similar earning possibilities outside of basketball just due to location. And I know we make fun of Ballmer on here but that guy has resources and can help there too.

Wait, is this a typo? You'd rather have AD over Kawhi + the kids?

I'm just as high on AD as you, but I'm clearly not as low on our kids. Not to mention our 1st rd picks. Those aren't disposable assets.

    Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

We're arguing LeBron + AD + Max FA vs. LeBron + Max FA + kids, right?

In every instance, I take the first one.

For being a non-dramatic type of person, kawhi is sure stirring up a lot of drama and taking his time.... I’ve already stated my displeasure of the waiting...
