really curious about the true details of the trade offer to SA and what he's been told about it by others. guessing it's not the same thing magic said, and i wonder if that's an issue.

Does it bother anyone he has the conversation with Magic and details of questions asked are out there now? His camp talking? Magic? Both?

I think the details of the conversation came from Magic’s end. Kawhi’s camp has been notoriously quiet/private unless they intentionally leak things to their benefit. In this case, they wouldn’t have any benefit to leak such detail.

It wouldn’t have been from the Lakers either considering the Lakers haven’t even spoken with Kawhi.

I hope Magic’s big mouth doesn’t come back and bite the Lakers. Ramona Shelbourne said something yesterday that Kawhi’s camp might be doing a “loyalty test” to see if the Lakers can keep quiet and not leak information. I hope they realize Magic is no longer a Laker employee, and the leaks don’t come from the organization.

Two things changed since Kawhi told him that he wanted to compete against Bron and not join him last summer.

1) AD coming. Bron is only there (as Bron) for another 1-2 years. Then after that the Lakers belong to him and AD.
2) How hard it was to do himself in Toronto. Load management. Now isn't against having some help.

 

Could have been Uncle Dennis or someone else from KL's camp? Would Magic risk blabbing about their private conversation after all that's gone on? Right at the end game?

I feel like Kawhi's people know Magic by now and that he can't keep quiet. I'm sure they want to make sure the FO isn't leaking, but they probably accepted that Magic would discuss his part.

Magic isn't new and knows how this all works so I'm not buying the excuses here. I think he is trying his best here to do whatever he can to save face for lashing out against the Lakers as an organization and venting his frustrations in front of the national media. Kawhi needs to focus on his needs and who he wants to play with bottom line. If that means the Lakers will allow his load management proposal and he in fact does want to have help in teh form of playing with AD and Bron then let's make it happen already. If not lets move on so the team can build the rest of the roster

 

If he is in fact leaving he isn't going to announce it today. His PR team won't allow that to happen

 

The more I think about it, the more positive I am that it was Magic who leaked the details of their conversation.

We don’t even know for certain when (what time) the KL/Lakers meeting is, and we don’t even know who is going to be at that meeting. So far we just know it’s Jeanie.

However, if Kawhi’s concerns that he brought up regarding training staff/load management and clarity on the disfunction with the front office/magic, you would figure Rob should be there to talk about the training staff.
