I haven't read much of the Mr. Rambis thread because I try to keep "insiders" away from me, so can someone please summarize the AEG thing for me?

Is AD even allowed to be at the pitch meeting since technically he's not on our team yet since trade hasn't been announced?

AEG apparently has connections to New Balance and they're working on a joint pitch to push Kawhi to the Lakers.

But on top of that, AEG is usually part of the pitch meetings to show prospective FAs the business and investment opportunities that they could get with the Lakers.

I think Kawhi is a lot more interested in the pitch from AEG than he or his camp is letting on. Don't know if Lonzo's BBB had any influence on him, but I think Kawhi's presence on the Lakers is going to change the shoe game....assuming NB doesn't screw up their shoe design like those gawd awful designs that just came out for Toronto.

That’s a good question, I’m actually not sure about that now. If he’s not allowed to be in that room though, there’s no doubt in my mind he won’t have contacted Kawhi in another way. He waived that trade bonus for a reason, no way is he not doing recruiting.

Let us all pray that BBB had zero influence on anyone or anything, ever, much less Kawhi.

The only way this could be better is if it said he’d been in contact with LeBron, Kobe, and Blake Griffin. :D

So, don't hold me to this, but I think AD can be in the meeting. From what I understand (I have Google so I'm basically an NBA GM now), the players are allowed to communicate with each other at all times. It'd be kinda silly to suggest he can't be in the room, communicating with Kawhi, just because the Lakers are there. But who knows, maybe he can't attend, in which case he should just chill in the waiting room and be there the moment the meeting concludes, fanning himself with his Space Jam 2 money.

I don't think he can be in the room @D-Fish Man because he'd be a representative of the Lakers, but he could just hang out with Kawhi outside of the meeting. I bet he could also be on the phone or something I'm not sure they could really fault that.

Maybe a really tall consultant named "Danthony Bravis" can attend and provide certain insights?

All Lebron and Ad have to do is bring in Blake Griffin and let him talk about Clippers loyalty and just when Kawhi thinks the meeting is over, Bron and AD tell him they talked to Nike and he can have his KLAW logo back as a "gift".

I asked this same question earlier this week. Lakers need to get burner phones and cover our tracks just in case.

From what I read on Twitter, LeBron and AD are at USC shooting Space Jam 2 and made themselves available to meet with free agent targets.

So I spoke to a buddy of mine who has a little bit more insight than I into the CBA, and he says there's no restrictions on players so AD could def be in the room. He said the Lakers just can't comment publicly on AD until the trade is finalized.

But he would still be under contract with the Pelicans. I wouldnt even risk it it I was the Lakers. The Raptors and Clippers would sue for tampering for sure.
