Am pretty certain too Lavar would have jerked with us and Lonzo come contract time with the requests to sign his other 1 kid at least. Gelo will never make it.
Sucks to rid ourselves of Lonzo and his D will be greatly missed. On the other hand, he was somewhat of a mental midget. 40% on FTs is just comically bad for a PG, no excuses. And he was always hurt. The "idea" of Lonzo being an amazing defender and play maker worked mostly in theory. In reality LeBron handled the ball and didn't allow Lonzo to shine, Lonzo got constantly hurt for extended periods and his shooting didn't live up to NBA standards. He also couldn't finish at the rim and Lavar Ball kept talking ****. So overall it doesn't feel that terrible that he is gone. Even though he might still live up to his potential and I'm sure he is an exciting fit next to Zion. I was torn which youngster I wanted to keep most but I think Ingram has the highest upside while Kuzma isn't afraid to shoot (even though he was terrible this year) and has the best mental makeup. We will finally be a team that can make more than 70% of its FTs...
I wanted to like him, I think he's a good kid in a bad personal situation with that reality show lifestyle. Time is on his side, he's away from Hollyweird and I hope this new club can get him to focus on winning, lifting and developing a real shot. He has a chance to be decent if they help him.
I agree. Seems like a good kid. He'll need to put in a lot of work to improve his game. I hope he has the constitution to do that.
I have to say, I was SOOOO unimpressed with Lonzo's comments about the trade. He AND his dad said they did NOT want to go to New Orleans under any circumstances, blah blah blah. Trade is over and he is dissing the Lakers over it, soo glad he was traded from this sht hole. I could have potentially been a fan of his going forward and who knows, down the road would have accepted him back into the fold. But not now, would rather see us crush him. Hart on the other hand is a class act, love that kid. I will forever root for him. When that team comes back into the forum, I will be clapping for Hart and showing love, but will be booing at Lonzo and wishing to crush him. When we do crush him, on his way out, I will be saying: Well, bye! He f'ed up. Even DLO handled things WAY better than Lonzo and he was disrespected by Magic. I think he is a loser and his dad is a moron. I think he has been abused by his father. There is something very f'ed up with that relationship.
It’s something I’ve wondered as well. I don’t think there’s been physical or sexual abuse, but rather the kind of inadvertent emotional abuse that comes from a narcissistic parent. He loves his kids I’m sure, but his delusional confidence, inflexibility, and confrontational personality could really mess up a child’s developing sense of self.
Yep, though, if I found out down the road that there was physical or sexual abuse, it would not surprise me at all. If me dad was posturing in the press due to the notoriety he received from me, I would shut him down in an instant. If he could not be shut down, I would distance myself. The fact that he has done none of that makes me think he is either abused or just as nuts as his dad.
It’s entirely possible, but what you describe is exactly what you’d expect from a codependent son of a narcissistic father
Lonzo reacting in his typical robotic fashion...lol We happy he got traded and he seems happy too. So without further ado...move your azz down to NO and take your show with you.
Bummer, seems like he'll miss another summer and opportunity to work on his game. Maybe we'll see a better FT shooter in 2021.
I’m rooting for the kid, I genuinely am, I hope he gets his injuries sorted out and has a great career. I only posted that info because it’s like..yeah, we really needed to move on from that for the immediate future to try to win now.
I was rooting for him until his comments on exiting. Put those in contrast to Hart's comments. The whole Ball family just aren't very wise. Between his low class comment and his dad's comments, I really don't find myself rooting for the guy. I would rather see Kawhi do well than Lonzo. I will pull for Hart and BI, heck at this point, I will root for DLO and Randle over Lonzo. DLO is growing up. Not gonna sit around and wish ill will on Lonzo, but I got nothing for him.
6 months out with an ankle sprain? I have never ever seen a grade 2 ankle sprain take more than 2-3 months and thats a stretch already.
I called him a kid because he’s exactly that, he’s 21. Russ is starting to mature and he’s 23, he was similar age to Lonzo when he was shipped out. Kids are going to do and say dumb things, I can only hope they learn from them and grow. I have no hate for Zo at all, a lot of stuff that goes on around him I blame on his idiot father. I certainly have Zo on my “rooting for” list above Kawhi, so we differ there as well, Kawhi is somewhere down there with Harden, CP3, George, and the entire C Bags organization.
He has yet to show his desire to become great and is very injury prone . Glad we get rid of his a** despite his D and playmaking abilities
