    Man the CLE-LAL-NOP 3-way trade makes TOO much sense.

    Alternatively, MIN could still make sense if they're dealing Saric instead of Covington to the Pelicans...and they could still take on Wagner and Bonga in exchange for trade exception and 2nd round pick?

    He's absolutely right...IF we have a max FA in hand...then and ONLY then should we be pulling the trigger to clear cap room.

    Why dump these guys right now when we may not HAVE to?

    He or his source misinformed us with the Rob-Nance report. Now I'm going to go on a Ledger and guess that Rob is a liar, but is Nance tho?



    AD forced himself here...no one can refute that. Knicks, BK, clips and even Boston never got traction or a real serious offer...so we were in the driver's seat.

    If you want to retain most of your assets/players AND have a max slot AND give AD his entire trade kicker, then Zo/BI/Hart/signed 4th (the reported deal) is all you need to accomplish all that.

    So if we had to incentivize Griff to push the deal to August, that's what draft capital should have bought us: time (again additional picks and a pick swap is part of the reported deal).

    Instead the timeline is now pushed up to July 6th and we have to shed literally everybody to make it happen.

    A savvy GM would have gotten that 4th pick aggregated into the deal to make sure you spared as many assets as possible instead of having further assets being necessary to get the deal done.

    In August, Zo/BI/signed 4th alone bring you AD. Add in Hart and you can also offer AD his entire trade kicker. Meanwhile in July you go get your max FA.

    Lastly, why shed role players in Jules, Nance, JC, Zu to gain cap space to then go get low tier free agents that will possibly get overpaid this summer due to all the money that is available.

    At this very moment, when it comes to finessing the cap, Rob ain't cutting it. Now had the cap been worn backwards, he would have a chance :p

    Seriously tho Im stoked to get AD and now I'm greedy in hoping this is a pending deal that either gets pushed for completion in August or at least after we lock up our max without surrendering more assets to do so. But one thing is certain...
