Ya Melo is terrible...he looks like he is 45, can barely move his feet.

He looks like he would get out-quicked by the statue of liberty in terms of raw speed.

I am forcing myself to "like" Carmelo on this team. He's coming. It's almost certain. We will likely be running out a frontcourt of AD/Kuz/Bron, so having Melo as a dude to spell us at the forward spots could end up being OK. He's probably better than other players who will take the minimum. If we land Kawhi or Kyrie, we will have at least 5 dudes on the roster making the minimum. Are there 5 guys better than Melo that are willing to take the league minimum?

He’s talented, no doubt. And to your point, more talented than most of the people who we can get at the vets minimum. But he has no killer instinct and probably doesn’t even care if he retires with a ring or not. He’s only ever cared about how many shots he gets. That’s it. That’s all it’s ever been for him. Coming to the Lakers will be a glamor project for him. Pass.

It's the vet minimum. We can cut him on a moment's notice if he acts up. I'm not saying he's the first minimum guy I'd go after. For example, if we have our starting 5 (like Lopez, AD, Lebron, Kawhi, Collison) and we have our first few bench players chosen (Kuz, Bullock, Caruso) then signing him for the minimum is a good move.

Fair enough. I can't disagree with this. But I do have a hard time seeing him getting cut from our roster on LeBron's watch. My priority is making sure his me-first mentality doesn't rub off on Kuzma.

Same boat. The only reason he wasn't on the roster to close out the season was roster space. Now we've got ton of that and need to fill out the roster whether we go max route or multiple guys.

Bron gave us AD, I'll gladly give him Melo to make him happy.

Every old horse has one last great race in them. Let's hope he saves his for the post season.

Sadly, both Melos seem delusional. One thinking he’s still a starter on a good team, the other thinking he could actually be drafted 1 overall.

LOLOL. Bet his teammates there too just like in Lithuania will welcome him with open arms. After reading that quote. Anyone that unselfish, especially a young kid from the USA that is all about doing whatever it takes to make their team better.

And Coach .... come over here and meet LaVar. He's a big fan of yours.

There is already someone better at doing what the current Melo can do, by a country mile too. The name: Kyle Kuzma

Honestly Lamelo might end up surprisingly good.. he shot up to 6'7" in height, has PG skills and has a semi-proper release/jump shot. Think he even mowed the goofy dread locks off his head.

Both his elbows go out to the side on his shot, nothing textbook straight below. And low in front of face release but granted not as whack form as Lonzo.

Is Wade retiring? I know he took vet min last season, wouldn't mind him at all, especially if we grab another star player. Definitely do not want Marshmallow though.

Agreed, much better overall than Lonzo's form but definitely not optimal. It's going to be hard for him to ever sniff the NBA thanks to his fathers stupidity.. no idea why they had that kid playing for money when it hurts almost any chance to play college ball.
