No worries, I know when to back away, just making sure he does as well.

As for the meat of your comment here, I agree. If we end up cutting Wagner and Bonga loose for a few extra million that’s a bad look. That’s essentially losing another 1st and a 2nd in the trade. I really hope that July 30th date is what was actually agreed to. I don’t believe we NEED to have that 3rd max guy to compete for a title, but to have one of those guys WANT to come here and not be able to because we’re short on cap room would be crushing.

I think Wagner has good potential for us. I want to keep the kid.

Accidentally quoted your post, apparently it was still in my message box from when I was quoting you before for some reason.

I was reading that too but the trade exception based on timing could be as high as $11MM.

Yeah.. I'm not really sure how this works, but it appears that it's in the Pels financial best interest to delay until end of July as well.. Hoping to get clarification on this..

Any links or references to who might have been discussing here about this more money up to 11 mil for the Pelicants you speak of? Was it vash, in this AD trade thread? Hope that's correct and all these recent media types' comments have it wrong.

By all accounts, the Lakers (including LeBron, Kobe, et al) are very much planning to go after Kawhi when free agency begins. So it's not like they didn't anticipate this when they made the trade. I have to believe they didn't knowingly hamstring themselves.

Honestly though, f*** the media. All of a sudden we got shafted? Last year our offer wasn't good enough (Kuzma included, taking back Hill). Give me a f***ing break, bunch of haters. They're scared again and im loving it.

If we sign Kawhi, it'll be so fun watching the media sit there with their d***s in their hands trying to figure out how to spin the fact that Lebron, Kawhi, AD and Kuzma is a 6 seed.

Honestly when you look at the stats and injuries of the kids, I feel confident that any other team that flipped them for AD would be getting applauded right now.

Again, I’ve got my issues with our front office but I call BS on a lot of these conflicting reports and the spin trying to make it seem like we gave up too much. Those same people were literally just saying we needed a third team and Boston was making a move on Saturday morning.

I’ll believe the reports about deal after it’s officially announced by the league.

If you're short a few mill, who cares? I tier 1 FA will make that 10 times over from LA business/ entertainment opportunities. Plus Lakers have shown they'll take care of their own when it's time to pay up or overpay. Add on that they'll likely get at least 1 ring out of the deal... they'll be fine. We'll be fine.

I’m not sure Brogdon gets matched, Bucks are in cap trouble when they sign Middleton to the max. They’ll be at 120m after Middleton and have a bunch of free agents. So I think a 15-18m offer makes them blink.

If Pelinka can find out that Brogdon wont get matched at 15 million, I would pounce on that. Drop a 4 year 60 million on him. Then use the remaining 15 million on more shooters and or PG who can shoot and facilitate.

I see, it’s not a team opt out, it’s a $1m guarantee only. That’s real interesting and definitely throws a spanner in the works on getting Brogdon.

I have to think that an extra pick was sweetener for NO to take Zo. Wouldn’t it make sense to increase the price if you have to deal with Lavar, especially with a young team? The 3rd team request could have been a trade tactic by Griffin, but it sounds like Pelinka didn’t want to wait any longer. I could see him saying there’s no 3rd team to flip Zo and the #4, so take an extra pick and let’s be done.
