    Kawhi’s a different dude. I’d like to think we at least have an outside chance at him, at least getting a meeting, but I can absolutely see him thinking he is good enough to join most any team and have them competitive in no time. He truly might not want to play next to LeBron, as much as he is very unselfish and I think it’s clear they work well next to eachother as Kawhi doesn’t need the ball to be super effective, but he might want to be THE guy on his own team. And rightfully so really.

    I sort of agree, but doesn't it kind of help us that he doesn't really need to be THE guy on his own team now. Because he's now already proven to the world and league that he can do it on his own relatively speaking. Gave TOR their first championship and now if he wants he can do whatever. I think had he not won it he might be like I want to run this back or I have some more stuff to prove.

    Just think if he joins the Lakers both he and Lebron could make history by winning 3 chamionships with 3 different teams. Lebron - Heat, Cavs, Lakers. Kawhi - Spurs, Raptors, Lakers.

    That would be pretty cool for them both to share in that moment.

    But wasn't Kawhi demanding a trade to the Lakers less than a year ago? I agree with what you're saying, but if he was cool with playing with LeBron last July, why would he suddenly not want that now? Also, isn't there now the added allure of being on a team that would absolutely DEMOLISH everything in its path?

    I don’t disagree with you at all, I’m mainly doing what I did with the AD trade, protecting myself by renaming cautiously optimistic. I do think we have a chance to convince Kawhi to come here, I was only addressing Punk’s question and making the case for why he might want to be a Clipper. I don’t really get why either, especially now with LeBron and AD in the same building, but again, Kawhi is a different dude, impossible to read.

    Kawhi would be the cherry on top here. Tough dude to read but come on home Kawhi to the purple and gold. Give the league something to really fear.

    If Kawhi’s heart is set on leaving Toronto, I have no idea why he would choose the Clippers over the Lakers after today.

    Think about it. This could actually be what Kawhi experiences on July 1st.

    Kawhi and Uncle Dennis meet Rob/Kurt/Linda/Jeanie for a pitch meeting. Suddenly the doors swing open and LeBron and AD come sit at the table with the message of “sitting at this table is 3 Top 5 players right now. Kawhi, Come join us on the court and let’s build a dynasty that the history of the league has never seen before. We can win championships immediately with the 3 of us, but when LeBron decides its time to retire... AD and Kawhi will continue the dynasty for another 5 years post-LeBron.”

    A pitch like that would be followed by the Kawhi/Clippers meeting an hour later. Kawhi sits down with Doc, Ballmer, and Jerry West and their pitch is, “come join us. We will forever be in the shadows of the Lakers but I think you will like that because your low profile anyway. Have you met our future franchise player? His name is Shai Gilgeaus-Alexander. He’s going to be really amazing!”


    At this point, if Kawhi chooses to stay with Toronto.. can’t fault the man for that decision. However, if he still picks the Clippers over the Lakers after those two pitches... oh man.

    Imagine the quality load management dude can get on a Bron/AD squad.

    Now add a win now youngn in 24 y/o Kuz along with all those ring chasers (DeAndre, Morris twins, Rondo, Pat Bev, Boogie, etc). Then consider a dysfunctional Houston squad, a malfunctioning dubs squad, a middle of the pack Portland squad, and an unproven Denver squad.

    Kawhi come home and empty a clip into this media lip service that has you going to a loser.
