What is your definition of successful? Godfather offer for AD? Something less?

For me, unsuccessful if we give up the Godfather offer for AD.

Successful at the very least will be BI + Zo + Kuz or BI + Kuz +4th or Kuz + Zo +4th.

It's right there for him and Kurt to grab. We will see if they can reel this one on in.

It works as long as the timing is right for the proper scenario. We can get a draft day deal done and have it completed on July 6th if we don't want to use our cap on a 2nd max guy.

But if we want a true 2max free agent, deal had to wait till August to become official. By that time Masai/Raps will be done with the Finals and maybe he's the Wiz's new Prez. Since he is insert contract with the Raps, the Wiz would have to surrender future pick compensation and we can obviously replenish it with a #4 for Beal trade.

Maybe the hold up are the Finals, so that Masai becomes free and if he passes on the Wiz job, then the Wiz need to find someone else to take the job and deal Beal. But the draft is coming fast, so they better have a Masai contingency plan.

Anyways, if y'all want the cap space we have to be used on a true max player, it's better to wait with the rush only being that we agree to a deal in principle and hope that noone dishonors the agreement and backs out.

Pels could easily overplay their hand here. AD's trade value will never be higher in the next year, than it is right now. Griffin is a decent GM, he knows that and will make a deal soon.

This does not make sense to me. By all accounts it was Magic who put everything plus the kitchen sink on the table. Even to the extent of Jeannie not being informed about how much Magic had offered. You are framing it as Rob being trigger happy, and Magic coming in as the conservative measured negotiator.

They would know what's fake. That's who the losers who run their page are. Takes one to know one.

Isn’t that the kid who was stalking NBA players a while back and then started pretending to be an insider? Granted, this is a distant memory from years & 2 kids ago, but it sounds familiar.

It would make sense that the NBA would want all attention for the Finals. So, it's likely this happens after the finals are over which just made me a Toronto fan tonight.

Wasn’t this the kid who was like 14 years old at the time and broke the Dwight Howard to LA story because he camped outside of the Beverly Hills hotel and just waited to ask Dwight when he left the hotel? Lol

Well im gonna be that guy and say what we offered Ty Lue was the right contract. Ty lue got all butt hurt about the years but lets face it.......Ty Lue has a ring but let's not forget that Ty Lue is 1-18 without Lebron. If he's that bad without Lebron why would us or anyone else sign him for 5 years especially if Lebron retires or doesn't come back to us. That means will be on the line for 2 more years and be in the same position as Cleveland is right now. Lue was also fired in his last job as he was trying to win playing vets and still losing while the young guys on the roster were sitting and watching. I think Lue would've been great with Lebron but if Lebron leaves in 3 years i don't want our franchise on the hook for a guy who's an less then average coach without Lebron.

1 more thing.......Instead of looking at the big picture he was focusing on then length of the contract. Who cares if its 3 years if you can coach a team that has Lebron, a young core, a top 10 pick and a max slot. s*** man prove youself in those 3 years and you may get an extension. Ty Lue didn't at the big picture. So eff him and his fragile ego.

I'm sorry but this doesn't make sense to me and i apologize if i'm missing something here. You telling me about Rob bidding against himself when Magic was offering the whole team? Isn't that bidding against yourself especially when the C Bags weren't involved at the time. It seems like Rob wasn't offering enough in magic's eyes and Magic decided to offer up every pick plus young guys plus taking on Hill's contract, how's that not the definition of bidding against yourself? I know you may not have anything personal against Rob but it seems you may at the very least have a bias against him.

But Luna, big picture is 5 years and having the self-respect of not only being a Lebron coach.

I'm not mad at the 3 years part, but he was one of our priorities at coach and at couldn't close. That's a problem to me in trying to close deals via trade and/or free agency, especially some Lue was perceived as such a lay-up.

Also look at it this way... Better x&os guy and we had alot of members with coaching expertise tell us as such (ie LFR, byc, Cranjis). Young enough to relate to AD if/when he came... His coaching staff would still have Kidd/Vogel and possibly Phil Handy (with the Kawhi tie in).

It was a blown opportunity and Magic wasn't there...so who blew it?

Exactly. What’s the saying: if we’re attacked by a bear in the woods, I don’t have to out run the bear, just you.

I'm sorry man i just don't see it that way. The deal wasn't closed cause our terms weren't good enough for him. It wasn't the fact that we offered him the farm plus money plus 5 years and he didn't take it, we offered him what we should've and he decided out of pride not to accept. Lue saved us from himself. The guy is 1-18 without Lebron and if he had self respect as a coach he would've proved it to us on the court and took the the 3 years and showed management what he was truly worth. What he has showed so far is that he can coach Lebron to a ring but without Lebron he didn't have the coaching IQ to play the young guys over the old guys and still lose. I still think we dodged a bullet with him and im glad his prideful ways kept him off our bench.

This just happened...could be nothing...could be everything.

JJ could be waived and give us 32.5m in cap as opposed to 32m...or he could be trade fodder giving us 1.4m to aggregate in a package.

Also Baynes won't be part of a AD cbag trade proposal...but Ainge happens to be a SOB, so you never know.
