Maybe you should look at this list and then read the short piece about his defense from their own blog site.

    https://www.foxsports.com/nba/stats...&pos=0&team=0&qual=1&sortOrder=0&opp=0&page=1

"But the big transformation in Vucevic’s game that has translated the most on the floor to overall team success has been his individual defensive improvement. Vucevic is never going to be the run-and-jump NBA specimen that uses his superior athleticism to swat shots into the first row. But his improved defensive positioning, awareness, and stability over the last two seasons has been nothing short of incredible. Especially this past season, under the guidance of head coach Steve Clifford, the USC-product transformed himself into an above-average NBA defensive player (DRtg - 103, good for 8th overall in the NBA)"

Kuz doing his part and everything to stay. This has got to earn him more points with Pelinka and Jeanie...

Not sure where you're pulling your info, but Lonzo shot better from 3 than Kuzma last year. Lonzo's issue is mainly in his head at the FT line, which is way overblown imo.

Right before Lonzo went down, minus his crappy free throw shooting was actually our best 3 point shooter. He was figuring it out. That's why he's invaluable, he's ELITE at defense, passing, pushing the ball and hockey assists. He's perfect for a team that has 3 stars. Let's say we get Kawhi and AD with LeBron. All we need are veteran shooters and we're elite

Yeah, as much as yall know I love Kuz, keeping Lonzo would be best for the team if we trade for AD.

He's the perfect complement player for a team with stars that need the ball in their hands.

He attempts 1.0 free throws per game. If he were to improve his FT% to 70%, it would increase his ppg by a whopping 0.2 pts.

He also shot 32.9% from the 3pt line, while Kuzma shot 30.3%. Given the number of attempts, Lonzo is creating 0.4 more points from beyond the arc when compared to Kuzma.

I'm not saying the FT issue is not a problem because it is. But Lonzo will have an entire summer (for the first time in his career) to work on it. In the grand scheme of things though, it's overblown. His elite defense and playmaking more than makes up for those 0.2 pts he's giving up at the FT line.

He attempts 1 ft a game, bacause he's scared as s*** to get them. If he was +70%, he would be shooting 6-8 a game easily.

He's not that type of a player. Players that attempt 6-8 FT's are 20+ ppg scorers that drive to basket way more often. Lonzo likes to operate in the perimeter, and there won't be as many opportunities with Lebron and AD averaging close to 60 pts combined.

BTW Kidd averaged 1.0 attempts while shooting 87% during that championship year with the Mavs.

He operates on the perimeter... because he's scared of FT's. He's quick and athletick as hell, can easily get to the basket. He ups his FT% he changes his game (goes to the basket way more). At least that's my thinking and i stick by it ;)
edit: as for Kidd, he was 3 times slower and 2 times less athletic than Lonzo is.

If we give up BI, Lonzo, and #4 were getting flecced. I will be happy with this trade not going down. I’m hoping some other team comes in and takes him. Magic f***ed this whole thing up with his dumb a** god father package.

I agree that it's a problem and it may influence his aggression going to the basket. It's a glaring weakness that people like to nitpick, but I stand by my opinion that it's relatively miniscule to the positives he brings to the team. His FT shooting can and will get fixed over the summer imo.

Do you realize how..unreasonable this sounds? Re-evaluate at what you just said from an outside of the Lakers world perspective. If that’s all we had to give up for AD, we got a steal, and we only got it because he demanded a trade and because he said he will only re-sign with us or the Knicks and it scared other teams away. At the deadline we were rumored to be giving up BI, Zo, Kuz, Hart, Zu, 2 firsts and like 2 seconds. In this case if we got to keep Kuz and Hart, that is huge on a team that will need to keep cheap talent around, those are 2 very solid bench players on rookie deals for 2 more seasons. To land a true 2-way franchise player, former MVP candidate at just age 26 for essentially 3 top 5 lottery picks (though less so really because picks lose value the second the become an actual player unless it’s a an assumed star taken #1), it’s wild that we’re even in this position, it’s really only because of Klutch, I don’t get how anyone could act like we don’t win that deal. Superstars always, always top 2 or 3 really good players, superstars do what Kawhi is doing for Toronto right now, something even an all-star in DeRozan couldn’t do, that’s how much they matter in the NBA.
