My best guess here is that our FO told Turner and Ganguli to come out and say that we value Kuzma the most and so do the Pelicans, so that way it doesn't look like we're "losing" as much in this trade to get AD. That's not actually the case though.

Yes. That was my initial thought too. He'll want his notification on to get credit if he knows right after predicting the deal. If he's wrong, he'll get tons of notifications giving me grief for not knowing *ish.

Been working with Lakers biz ops folks & AEG all day on the consulting side so don't have direct player knowledge but a good sense of what's going on.

Internally, things are looking up. Deal's not done but progress has been made since discussions started last night. Business folks are optimistic AD's a Laker in 24-48 hrs. There is information delay from bball ops to business side though so be wary of that. All it takes is a 3rd team to demand extra assets or pull out and we are back at square one. At this point Boston and NY not considered to be a serious threat by Lakers brass and instead more of a leverage play by Griffin.

I don't put too much stock in what "Lakers brass" thinks these days since I assume that means Linda Rambis and all the other idiots that got us to this point. Let me know what Jesse Buss and Ryan West think. They're the only people in that FO I trust farther than I can throw.
