That was a great defensive play from Draymond by waiting then pouncing after the pass while the ball was in the air

So why the heck would Kawhi want to come to the clippers, even with two max slots? Who was the other max FA he felt he’d like to team up with? Kyrie or Klay have never been rumored. Kemba or butler don’t move the needle. The Kawhi to clippers rumors have to have been with teaming up with KD in mind. Why would he come alone or with Kemba or butler? With KD out, does that leave Kawhi to Lakers?

Kawhi was going to team up with AD on the cLips cause the clips are now the new gold standard that's run by West the consultant and their franchise isn't shady in the least (forget Blake, firing Bowen, stalking Kawhi, secret coup for new arena in Inglewood... forget all that)...at least that's what Ballmer, uh Jenkins, uh the national media told us.

Wait, the cLips are no longer on AD's short-list? Why? He would still get the LA market and not have to deal with the Lakers dysfunctional FO. Right?

Yeah. I think he stays in Toronto.

The one thing the KD injury did do though, is if Kawhi was planning on signing a one year deal in Toronto in order to move somewhere else the following year, he probably reconsiders that now. If Kawhi ultimately does want to come to So Cal, KD's injury may convince him to lock up a long deal here as opposed to another year in Toronto then move somewhere else.

No way I offer the max to KD. I think he has a chance to come back somewhat close to what he was because of the type of game he plays. But only Dominique Wilkins came back from this injury to be the same player. Also, KD won't play this year which means you waste year two of Lebron.

well alot of you guys are saying ad/james n bunch of ring chasing vets would be enough to challenge a kd-less gsw....so couldnt kd in a yr just be icing on the cake?

Keep in mind, it wouldn't be just Lebron, AD and ring chasing vets. We'd likely still have Kuzma and Hart. And we'd have close to 30 million in cap space.

I don't give KD max simply because we need to maximize LeBron's time here...and there's other options that can play now and I'd rather go with Kyrie, Kawhi, Butler, Klay, heck even Tobias Harris or Vucevic than try and get KD who may NEVER be the same again and will also NOT play all of next year.

As far as kawhi goes...it is interesting to think who else was going to come to the Clippers with him? Was it always going to be KD? I doubt that he comes to the Clippers now even if Clippers are still in pursuit of KD because he'll have a full year of NO KD and also no guarantee that KD returns to the same player (doubtful imo).

I think the Clippers HAVE to go all in on AD in order to convince Kawhi to sign with them...the problem is they won't know that until free agency opens so they can't really get in the game until after the draft. It might be too late by then though...Lakers have to act now and then use AD as a selling point to Kawhi.

Also....Kawhi could just stay in TOR...which I think is the most likely scenario anyway and in that case, the Clippers are still screwed and I'm happy with that outcome as long as we get AD and Kyrie or AD and someone else (butler likely).

If the Raptors win, how can he leave?

If they fall one game short, how can he leave?

He says he wants to win. He's in a fantastic spot. I believe the story of him buying a home there. He's staying, even if it's only for another year.

The Raptors roster is not a young roster. It's likely their only title if they win it regardless if he is there or not. Win the title in Toronto, say thank you and then go to the Lakers if AD is traded there and he wins the next 3 titles.

I can't remember but I think KD has a player option. If KD exercises that option that puts the Warriors in a pickle because I don't think they want to be so far over the cap taking care of Green and Klay. Klay said he isn't going to take a discount and he shouldn't. So, the Warriors will need to let someone go and that would likely be Green. However, I think that there might be an opportunity for us chase after Klay or at least maybe get an audience with him. That would be the smart thing for him to do but who knows... he's kind of a close-to-the-vest sort of guy.

I guess what I'm sayin' is that if Kawhi doesn't come here I would be all in for Klay. Can you imagine Klay, LeBron and AD?! Then sign Reddick and we have a really formidable team.

Yes, that will be interesting to watch. The decision to let him play that one game may alter the future of the franchise big-time
