Nothing on the internets confirms property bought in Toronto. So as of right now, it's hearsay from the TrueHoops interview.

But what also stands out from that interview is the short-term deal Kawhi is supposedly interested in taking with the Raps. Again, he's an 8th year player, making next season his 9th. A player entering their 10th year is eligible for a 35% max deal. So he stands to make more money in the long-term by taking a 1+1 30%max deal, opt out next summer and get that 35%max bag.

That goes for all tier1 free agents this summer: Klay, Kyrie, Kemba and Butler can all sign a 1+1 deal this summer to sign a 4yr 35% max bag the next summer. Kemba is a lil different tho since Charlotte can offer him that 35% supermax bag this summer. But 1+1 deals this summer should be expected and the silver lining is that if it doesn't work out with Bron in LA, that vacated cap space is now available for AD in 2020 (if we can't trade for him by then and we would also have to figure out what to do with a RFA BI). So essentially 1yr deals this summer won't be all that bad.

One other interesting thing about Kawhi is wanting the rights to that Nike Klaw logo for marketing... now I know the cLips were trying to buy that logo, but maybe the Lakers can swoop in and provide that Leonard "L" an extra hand...

The potential Kawhi-Hart exchanges next year would be legendary.

yeah, only in pro sports can this combination work, imo. if that guy was trying to make it in the regular folks world, he might be institutionalized.

No-nonsense, workman-like approach......or sociopath that goes home and stares at a blank wall for two hours before going to bed in a concrete basement?

    Damage control...per Newsday:

Looks like BK's power move might Net them Ky/KD (btw they literally gotta renounce everybody for this to happen), leaving NY to Kawhiet down their neighbors.

    lot of panic right now:

boston deploying its media folks to keep their name in the davis talks.
knicks claiming to have other targets.
clippers claiming freaking SGA is untouchable (classic west).

there are 7 max slots in the biggest nba markets, and probably only two guys are going to switch uniforms...it's going to get UGLY come july.

I'm prepared to be disappointed with free agency. This year a lot of big markets have cap space, not just us. And theres not enough guys to fill all those spots. I'd be much much more confident if we actually did a good job filling our front office but we have Rob and Rambii running things.

So about that... it's true that Mintz lost his clients a ton of potential money...but now we got bigger problems...Mintz got a promotion.

You know how Zo linked up with CAA...guess who is a co-agent of his? Meanwhile DLo and Jules are still repped by that tool.

Good times ahead this summer. I just hope Mintz realizes we sent DLo to a get market for a 2max scenario and look the Nets are doing the same exact thing to him again. We cut Jules loose and made him an UFA a full year earlier. Hope Mintz greases the wheels on any potential Zo trade.

Goes without saying but good luck this summer, Rob.

There is more money than talent, so guys that don't deserve the max will get WAY more than they deserve. Simple supply and demand. I hope we aren't suckers for albatross contracts though.
