He wasn't banned. He was a weiner and a deserter because he was all up in his feelings hating LeBron. My theory anyway. Gotta give it to him though ... never wavered in that.

    Hey @Alcindor !

Apologies for the rambling! I have a tendency to do that sometimes. I need to work on being more brief.

Anyways, without rambling now... ;) The questioning of my credibility kind of puts me in a bit of a double whammy, right? If I offer reasons for certain "holes" in my stories, I look like I'm justifying and providing lengthy explanations when a person of my stature shouldn't be giving my doubters the time of day. But on the other hand, if I ignore everything, folks will undoubtedly point that out too. It's a bit of a no win situation for me ;) Well, aside from the rambling! That's a loss for everyone! :)

I will say this. Although I have done well, I would rather not bring the toxic business attitude I see on a day to day basis onto this website. Especially when everyone here seems to treat each other with a great deal of respect! On this board, it doesn't matter who we are or where we come from. What matters is that we are Laker fans and will follow this team through thick and thin! :)

I work with a lot of execs who have no problem playing dirty, blowing people off, and so on, to get the job done. But this is not how I like to treat others, especially outside of the office. And I recognize it's not congruent with the sense community the staff here works so hard to maintain.

In short, I just want to discuss Lakers basketball with some fellow fans. I encourage you and the rest on this board to be skeptical of all information you come across, including from me! I will pass along the little I hear, and it seems to be okay with many. If this is upsetting to you, please let me know and we can try to resolve it, or loop in a staff member and go from there.

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

Hi @RonStu ! Good to hear from you again.

My gosh, how embarassing of me! I didn't realize the emoticons were not proper etiquette here. If you could kindly show me how to use these GIFS, I'll do my best. I want to support the site as much as possible! :) -- last one for now!

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

Hey @Barnstable , really appreciate the support!

I will say that aside from wanting to maintain a little privacy (do we even have that on the Internet these days?), verifying my identity would not be a trivial task. Since I am not employed by AEG, I don't have a business card to show. My "office" maintains a very low online profile as well. It is probably more trouble than its worth, and I am sure your time is very valuable too.

I also will say that in the past, I have asked the AEG guys many times in the past if I can pass on their "rumors" to my friends. They've responded every time "Hah, what friends!" As you can see, the guys I'm working with can be real a******* (excuse my language)! But, if there was a serious issue, I'm sure it would come up.

And of course, I do see that you are one of the "head honchos" on this website. So I'd like to express my gratitude for all that you do. If there's anything you ever need from me, (including telling me to shut up!) please just let me know.

    Regards,
    Mr. Rambis

One last thing before I sign off for a bit, I did have that New Balance meeting today so I wanted to update you. Unfortunately, nothing eventful from a Lakers standpoint.

I did arrive early to the meeting and caught some AEG execs and their financial consultants forecasting some potential deaflow on HubSpot. I noticed there was revenue included from the Kawhi side of things and it wasn't in the "maybe" category. Of course I had to ask about it, and they said something along the lines of, "It's not for certain. But we're getting positive signals from the Lakers. Plus, Dennis is a greedy one." I did confirm Kawhi or his agent has not signed off on the Lakers just yet, but he and his agent are aware of the projections. Then I went off topic and asked about Kevin too, and they said "We'll pitch him. But MSG can match our revenue targets and he knows it."

Again, a forecasting model is just that, a best guess. Nothing new or no major news. But a small nugget to share.

Heard from a report that Stephen A said that Kawhi's mind is already made up; he wants to come back to Los Angeles. I have to look for they report; he didn't specify the team, though .

We will see; I am hoping the Bucks knock them out in 5. LOL.

I probably don't have to tell you this, but Stephen A Smith is actually connected, but his job is to stretch the truth and make bold, outlandish statements to generate controversy. And he's quite good at it. But he's been wrong on many occasions (again, as I'm sure as you know), so the grain of salt rule applies even morseo!

Sorry. Want to believe as mentioned a couple times that we actually have an industry insider at the macro level with AEG connections, but having trouble keeping track of where you are when you are meeting people about Kawhi and the New Balance deal as it can potentially affect the Lakers. Are you back from Asia (India specifically) already, or having meetings about that in India? If India, why, before it's even a done deal? Or did you jet right back into the States for the meeting today?

Hey @LTLakerFan ! No worries, my schedule can be pretty confusing for me too!

This whole week I'm back on the west coast. I had the New Balance meeting earlier today. Last week, I was traveling all over the place. I'll be traveling next week too. Yesterday, I was referring to my nighttime calls with various folks in Asia (really APAC in general). My first call that I had to run to was with a team in India. Many of these (such as the India call) aren't related to the Lakers or AEG but are just me helping facilitate global partnerships. In fact that's what I'm up doing right now. As I said, I'm more of a deal maker. I don't work directly for anyone. Keeps the brain sharp at my age ;)

He didn't get banned as I said above. Left for awhile as he said in his post a couple months ago. Personal reasons. Hated LBJ too much I think. Don't know for sure why.
