AD doesn't owe LA anything, just like Pg, and probably just like Kawahi to be making clear statements that its LA or nothing....I can't even imagine anyone purposely trying to join all this "dumpster fire of a FO"

and why does he want to be here? What have you seen out of this FO that would suggest anyone "wanting" to be here on purpose? there's not much difference in saying "he has to be want to be here" and he owes it to us to be here, same end pt different terms to get there

AD doesn't owe us anything...but he "likes" our efforts in acquiring him and I suspect he would like to be here too.

Unlike Palmdale George over there thinking we sat on our hands trying to acquire him. He can rot in OKC.

Haha...don't need that bum a** or that bum shoulder.

Plus pops clearly has a preference.

That being said, the Knicks are definitely a threat with a top3 pick imo.

Knicks need to drop to 4th or 5th and we need to catapult into the top 4 to have a shot at beating the Knicks offer.

I'm not really worried about Boston anymore...it's the other teams now that I worry about (the Toronto's and OKC's and Clippers of the world).

Knicks can waive Lance Thomas (only 1m guaranteed) and will have 74m in cap space. They need 71m in cap to sign KD & Ky. They then can use the remaining cap to partially absorb AD's 27.1m and then they'll only have to send out about 19m in salary. They can sign Zion to roughly 10m as a 1st overall pick and then wait a month to package him along with Knox and either DSJ or Ntilikina.

I know I know....the Knicks are a joke franchise with a joke FO/owner...but they can realistically have KD/Ky/AD and if you have that type of opportunity, you take the risk.

Meanwhile Zinger sure appears to be Mavs material in how he handled oh girl...

I know not gonna happen, but if we were to miraculously win the lottery, would NOP trade us AD for the #1 pick straight up? That's the rumored arrangement between NYK and NOP.

It would not be wise to trade AD completely into cap space cause then you no longer have a max slot to offer free agents (if they opt out of their player options).

Zion can make about 10m as a 1st overall pick (that's his caphold). If we sign a 30% max free agent like Kawhi or Kyrie, then we'll be roughly 2m short of offering their true max of 32.7m (but a 1+1 to get payed a 35% max next summer can rectify that).

Then that would mean we have to send about 22m in outgoing salary. So Zion plus BI or Zo as the core pieces in a package gets a deal done for us. This way, we can keep either BI or Zo in a potential AD trade.

But that would mean trading Zion without really giving it a real look to see if it would work here.

If by some miracle we somehow get Zion, I think we should only trade him if we can land Kawhi.

All it takes is one snake eyes roll baby! If we get Zion, I wouldn't trade that pick for anyone.

I used to get excited about anything related to the Lakers. Now I don’t look forward to anything, and I blame Linda.
