How this C Bags season ended, I truly believe we could easily get AD and Kyrie if we had our house in order. Instead we're going to have Kidd coach up Zo and max out KCP to appease Klutch after this misstep with Lue... probably.

Kyrie is gone. So I kind of almost hope Boston DOES trade for him. They'll have to give up Tatum. Smart and a few mid-firsts isn't anywhere close to what we could potentially offer. So then they have AD/Hayward/Brown? That's not going to win jack in the East. Then AD leaves. Griffin also reals like Ingram.

NO thought ingram/ball/kuzma/1st wasn't strong enough. i have a tough time seeing how boston can even match that, let alone clearly surpass it.

i'm really curious to see how much of the griffin proclamations about trying to get AD to stay is smoke and how much is true. i do keep going back to the fact that AD seemed upset by how poorly run the organization was (and it was). now they've got a respectable basketball guy calling the shots...is that enough? because we don't.

lets see how FA goes, NOP is in cap hell with little room to improve and their drafting history has been a poor one since AD.

*psh* Tatum alone trumps all those players plus picks, if they throw in Brown or Rozier that’s the greatest trade offer of all times.

He is. It'd need to be a sign and trade.

Rich Paul has been in touch with Griffin about trading Davis here. He's open to the idea, but it depends on if ownership signs off, which is a whole different can of worms.

Demps and Magic was a disaster, though.

Boston will probably have to part with Tatum but not sure that's smart if they trade him and Kyrie walks and now you've got a 1-year rental in AD?

I think Boston ends up offering Jaylen Brown, Marcus Smart and Yabusele along with all of their current and future first round picks for AD so they can have Horford, AD, Tatum, Hayward and a re-signed Rozier next year. Is Brown/Smart/Yabusele/4 firsts all in 2019 draft better than the Lakers offer? Probably not, but that doesn't matter to New Orleans. They don't want to send AD to LA and they'll likely sign off on a lower offer for him just to get it done and they can justify it with Jaylen Brown and all the picks they're getting to their fanbase. I also think Jaylen Brown will be better off on his own team (he played very well in the 2nd half of the season and played well in the postseason too, sometimes even better than Tatum).

I think our offer is clearly better but we'll have to wait for AD at this point...don't see a deal consummating anyway with our terrible and embarrassing front office right now

Btw, this is incredibly tame to the material (waste, recyclable, and/or otherwise) that's found here.

^^^In 2 weeks the draft order will already be determined with the cbags, and both teams from LA/NY markets all eligible to trade (technically, Boston can have a trade agreed upon but can't pull on it till July 1st).

I just can't imagine Boston trading Tatum with Irving being such a question mark. And the Pelicans can't be dumb enough to take Brown, Smart a bunch of mid firsts over a package of Ingram, Ball and a lottery pick or Kuz, Ball, and a lottery pick.

I'm sure Griffin was told he had control of BBall ops or he wouldn't have taken the job if he was told to take crap trades.

Yeah, the Boston narrative is a wild one and Woj championed the f*** out of it, but there are huge problems with it.

Let's say Kyrie stays, his caphold is 32.7m (he would only opt in to his player option if he and his bird rights were being traded to another team; it does him no favors to opt in and remain with the cbags since they already hold his bird rights even if he opts out), then they're looking at a team salary of about 106m with 3m in cap space. Btw this is assuming they renounce Rozier and Hortford opts out. But if Ky is staying and AD is coming, you would think the cbags hold onto Hortford.

AD w/o trade kicker is 27.1m and cbags need to send 21.6m out
AD w/trade kicker is 31.2m and cbags need send 25m out

Tatum has to be involved in a trade cause the Pels should wisely refrain from targeting Hayward, so that only leaves Smart. Smart and Brown alone can't be used to bring AD in. So it has to involve Tatum just for salary to match.

Oh and there is that thing where Ky and Tatum are boys. Will Ky be chill in having Tatum head out for AD?

Oh...and that treasure trove, can't be traded till after the draft. So do they get signed & traded (which means the trade has to wait a month to go thru) or do they just trade the rights to the players, in which case salary matching issues remain.
