    that's going too far.

but yeah, i wouldn't be mad at him if he demanded a trade at this point. honestly, he should.

and people joke about "legm", but if we get another star, it's because of him. and if he were negotiating the coaching hire, it would be done already and not a national embarrassment.

of course, if a coked-up squirrel were running things, it might be going better, so it's not exactly high praise.

He only has a few years left of his NBA career, I would totally understand him asking for a trade. LA was never yours, you have no loyalty to the city, just pick up and go, contend for another ring or two before father time shows up.

He wanted to be here and so does his family. He's not going anywhere. You all are freaking out a little too hard right now.

Exactly. I would love to trade Lebron for some good assets but it's not likely. Lakers need to ignore the noise and try and get this team the correct coach and players this summer.

I'm still puzzled on why the Lakers are getting laughed at for not hiring Ty Lue. Fans are getting suckered in like they always do to the dolts around the media. Ty Lue sucks. Monty Williams is not that good either.

Lakers need to get someone for the next 5 to 10 years not for Lebron.

Why are we interested in Lionel Holland then? Dude might only be alive for 10 years.

so I guess you must think Vogel, Hollins, Jkidd are better candidates then?

Jesus christ. Has anyone been reading what I've been saying? I know you have because you have responding.

Who said they are hiring Vogal or Hollins or Kidd? Its media speculation and candidates. This is exactly what you are suppose to do. Interview people. Unlike the last idiot who ran things who hired the first guy he talked to.

yeah, one of the younger candidates in lue was considered not a good "long term fit"--so we're going to talk to older washouts? if i heard we were interviewing some outside the box names or something like that, i might grant the point.

but it doesn't matter anyway--it's how things were handled, not that it's not tyronn lue.

Can't believe I'm writing this, but I genuinely feel bad for Bron. As much as I dislike him his impact so far on the Lakers, a player of his caliber should not have to waste the final years of his career on this pathetic circus.

I can't. At the end of the day, Lebron is using us. He's using us as a springboard into Hollywood and he's using our enormous fan base (which includes Hollywood moguls) to jump start his entertainment career. If Lebron came here to actually play basketball, and his goal was to return the Lakers to glory, then I'd feel sorry for him. But the dude is here for everything but basketball.

This Free Agency is a very interesting one for the Lakers.

AEG has been pushing for Durant. Him and LeBron met a while back to discuss this and some media ventures. Kevin is not the most clear with intentions. His guys have been vocal about New York next year, but this could be a leverage play - not the first time I've seen it. Nothing directly from Kevin though. Right now everything is on pause as we wait for word on what might be a very serious leg injury to Durant.

Lakers Front Office is more interested in Kawhi. AEG has already started working on our media pitch to him about how we can blow up his media brand with our New Balance partnership while still keeping LeBron in the spotlight. The quandry at hand is that he, much like most stars, has a big ego. Having been a Finals MVP, he wants to lead his own team. This is where Ballmer will try to come from. Lakers, without insulting LeBron, want to show that Kawhi can have a lot of credit and increase the valuation of his endorsement portfolio, and take over the Lakers from there.

Kyrie is another target. LeBron wants him badly, and has been recruiting with him all season since Irving's phone call to LeBron months earlier. Mr. Wechsler has been in touch with Pelinka about this, but it is unclear how serious the interest is. Irving is immature and fickle with his decision making, and has his eyes wandering all over the place from the Knicks to the Nets. He is close with Kevin also, and those two have been in touch about teaming together. Kyrie is nervous about being in LeBron's and Durant's shadow as well. He felt as though he should have had more credit for the championship win, and Kobe has pushed him to lead his own team too. There is a lot to unpack here.

There's ZERO pressure joining the Lakers right now. We won 37 games. The FA would only have to win 10 more games with Lebron (a given, barring injury) to make the playoffs and be treated like the messiah of Los Angeles. For a player like Kawhi seeking to blow up his brand, the current state of the Lakers, ironically, is the golden ticket. He's already proven he can lead a team to a championship (Spurs) and being the man on a contender (Raptors), so I really can't see why he'd join the Clippers.

And if he joins, I think we'll trade everything we have for AD. If you have Lebron/Kawhi/AD, it really doesn't matter who else is on the roster.
